Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Online Experience: A few years but new online Location/Timezone: PST / PDT Availability: Fri. mornings - evenings all week (maybe starting at 6PM PST/PDT) Preferred role: DM Game style:
I'm a DM trying to learn how to set up online games. To keep things simple I'm going to run the Lost Mines of Phandelver module on Roll20. Also, I don't know anything about the published campaigns, so it would be fun to get into the lore. I'm looking for 4 - 5 players to be my guinea pigs as I stumble through the labyrinth of menus, boxes and hotkeys until I just give up and roll on my desk with a monster manual while you move your tokens around the map.
My playing style is fairly casual. I try not to be serious and sometimes can't help but be ridiculous. I like games that have a lot of role play and aren't just combat. That said, we'll see how LMoP goes. If I gain proficiency in Roll20 I'll modify it a little.
This module is good for new players (so I'm told) but any level of experience is fine. You can make your own characters but it also comes with pre-generated characters. I'd like to keep it simple for now, so characters based on the PHB or pre-gens are preferred but if you want to branch please do. The great thing about D&D is that you can be whoever you want and I don't want to stifle any of that creative by making you play the Dwarf Cleric template or something (with all due respect to Dwarf Clerics). So get out there and have fun.
Which brings me to my next point. I like to have a fun and inclusive game above all else and I want people do be comfortable. So no harassment, racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia or being a jerk. Any age of player is fine by me, but I know some players are more comfortable playing with people about their age. I'm in my 30s.
If you're interested post below or PM me with some information about you.
What kind of game do you like? Of the times listed above in Availability, when can you play? How much experience playing D&D do you have? Have you ever used Roll20 (i.e. help me out when I get confused)? If the campaign had a wise monk named Qi Anu who just shows up, listens thoughtfully and pays your medical bills, would that be cool? What kind of characters or classes do you like to play? Would you prefer video or just audio? Discord? Anything else you'd like to add?
edit: Looking to get started in a week or two. Depending how long it takes to get players / players to roll characters.
Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Online Experience: 1yr Location/Timezone: PST Availability: Sundays, Tues/Thurs 6p-12a Preferred role: Player Game style: Casual; prefer hack n' slash, but not a stranger to RP. Down to play whichever class to best fit party.
I'm a patient player willing to help you out. I've played R20 as a player, but not yet as a DM. I prefer to play support or tank, depending on the party. Don't mind meeting a wise monk named Qi Anu as long as he pays my medical bills. I prefer just audio, but not opposed to video. Discord is AzynPerswayzen#2132.
Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Online Experience: 4 months Location/Timezone: EST/EDT Availability: Mon-Sat from 7pm-1am Eastern (4-10pm Pacific) Preferred role: Player Game style: Casual, prefer a mix of RP and combat but I'm open to whatever you and the group want to do.
I've done a few one-shots on discord but never anything on Roll 20, that being said I'm more than willing to learn. I enjoy playing multiple types of characters but I have a fondness for rangers and warlocks. I'm find with wise monks named Qi Anu who want to pay my medical bills. I've only done audio but I'm open to doing video, and my discord is WilyMethos86#5173
Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Online or Face to Face Experience: 5e short, but been playing off and on ~10 yrs (3.5, Pathfinder, 4E) Location/Timezone: EST Availability: Sunday and Friday evenings after 9:30 EST (6:30 PST) Preferred role: Player Game style: Balance of RP, exploration, and combat
New to 5E and would be new to Roll20 (just got Discord but assume it works like most chat/conference software). No problems sticking to PHB, kind of prefer the classic races anyhow (for now).
Game: D&D ?? Group preferred: Online Experience: Played back in my middle school days back before 3.5... haven't played since, since I don't have other friends who play it anymore. Location/Timezone: Colorado Mountain time Availability: evenings after 6, or tuesdays-thursdays anytime. Preferred role: Player Game style: Balance of RP, exploration, and combat.
I'd like to get back into playing the game. I posted elsewhere about wanting to make a gnome artificer, after reading a little about it, but seems like that's not doable so far... Maybe I'd be able to start out with a basic wizard and branch out into artificer later?
Thanks to everyone for all the replies. I've responded to everyone who sent a PM and I'll have a closer look at the people posting in here tomorrow.
You don't need to stick with characters based on the PHB or pre-generated characters from the module. I mentioned it because I'm new to Roll20 and I thought it might be easier to avoid making characters that aren't standard for now. But reading people's character ideas have changed my mind. I want players to have fun with their characters and be what they want. So don't hold back.
Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Online Experience: Greener then the macaroni that's been sitting in my fridge since Christmas Location/Timezone: Delaware EST Availability: I work 7P to 7A as as nurse 3 days a week typically Monday, Tuesday, Thursday. I have to work every third weekend so my schedule can be a bit erratic, but I self-schedule so I don't mind making my schedule around when everyone wants to play Preferred role: Player Game style: I'm down for anything
