Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online Experience: a few years / veteran Location/Timezone: EST Schedule: Every Sunday 7-10pm est, with the possibility of going until 11pm Roles sought: One Player Game style: Hello all! I'm looking for a single player to join my group of level 4 players in curse of strahd. The Party is really just getting started, we're only about 5 sessions in so don't feel like you missed a ton.
I'm not traditionally a module kind of DM. I almost always run homebrew, and I always try and really weave my characters backstory into the world to make them feel like they have a place there. I don't intend for Curse of Strahd to be any different. If you apply and I take you into the group, I will happily try and integrate you into the world as best as possible, giving each player a personalized quest, and ties into Barovia. I'm looking for dedicated players who can make it every session, who will be attentive, and who will participate. I'm open to new payers too, but as a general warning, Curse of Strahd is a notoriously BRUTAL module, and I do not pull punches in combat. Curse of Strahd is supposed to be a horror module, and I will not hesitate to murder players, or even TPK as I want more than anything, for your characters to fear for their lives. There are some dark themes in COS, including child abuse, murder, kidnapping, gaslighting, racism, sexism, torture, mind control, cannibalism, sexual assault, mental illness, animal cruelty, body horror, incest, suicide, drug addiction, and alcoholism. If for any reason any of these themes are particularly traumatic or stress inducing, I will try to avoid them, and that's something I'll discuss with people on a one on one basis. I will be utilizing some DM Guild material for the campaign to help create some different story elements, along with some homebrew monsters out of the Kolbold Press books I own to help make the experience different, so if you've played Curse of Strahd before, you might find yourself surprised at some of the differences, and if you make that clear when we have session 0, I will make more changes as I see fit. I realize a lot of this can come off as intimidating, but overall, I just want to tell a good story, and I want to make sure I have the right players who will stick with me till the end. If you're interested, please fill out the form below,, and I will reach out to you if I think you'll be a good fit. Please understand I am only looking to fill one slot so I will not get back to everyone.
