Looking for Players - In-person NYC (UWS) monthly game

Location/Timezone: New York City (Upper West Side - Hex & Co)
Schedule: Saturday or Sunday - monthly (2pm-6pm-ish)
Roles sought: Looking for 3-4 players
Game style: Very casual, humorous campaign

We will start with Lost Mines of Phandelver, and go from there.  Will be primarily running published modules.  Very casual, beer-and-pretzels style role-playing. We will start off at Hex & Co, as that is a neutral location, enjoying a monthly afternoon of D&D, beer (wine or cider), good food and lots of laughs.  If people's schedules allow, we can look at increasing the number of times we play.  While not necessarily miniature focused, I do tend to use scenery and miniatures (particularly for battles).  PM me with any questions/interest.  Please note:  I don't charge for this game.  However, I should mention that Hex & Co charges everyone $10 per day/session for a table.  Eventually, we might be able to move it to a free location - but, Hex & Co is designed for this type of thing, and they have really good beer and food... so it is my go-to gaming cafe in NYC.  But, figured I should warn people that might not be familiar with it.  Gaming in NYC is a bit different (space being at a premium here) than other places.

I've played like 5 or 6 sessions of dnd over discord but in general I'm fairly new to the game. I have a decent understanding of the basic rules of the game from youtube videos and things like critical role. I would love to play again because it was a great time but I'm not sure how prepared I would need to be for something like session 0, would I need to have a character sheet and dice set ready on the first session?

I'm planning on this game being very new player friendly.  I have run several intro campaigns for players just starting out.  I plan for this being very casual - so no need to know the rules in-depth at all.   I'd probably have you create your character ahead of the first session, but I am happy to jump on discord to help you out with creation. Possibly do a quick session 0 on discord so folks know what each other wants to play and can set a little bit of background (rather than do all the intros when we're at the table).   I have extra dice - so, no need to bring your own unless (until?) you get hooked (which I warn you... it is very addicting ;) )
