Game: D&D 5e preferable but I'm a quick study and willing to learn any other system. Group preferred: Online Experience: New Location/Timezone: CST Availability: Flexible Preferred role: Player but I'm willing to try being the dm if I have to. Game style: Not sure. If I had to say what kind of player I am; mechanically sound but not very good with descriptives yet.
Dragonlance was the very first d&d novel series I read, many many years ago, (I've also read several recently) and I love the world of Krynn. I'm familiar with the lore, and although I have a working understanding of the 5e mechanics (the reason I'm hoping to play a 5e conversion) and lore of several 5e campaign worlds, when I think of high fantasy Dungeons and Dragons, I think of Dragonlance.
Frankly, almost any race and class would be fun to play in that world so I'm not picky about what I play. I do however have ideas. A tinker gnome with a life quest to "find every use for rope" and maybe moon-touched, (less crazy) so he's not so difficult to play. Or a Factotum who was rescued and raised by an adventuring party and has a family and patron he sends most of his earnings to...etc.
Anyway, lmk if you're interested in this game at all. Keep in mind, I don't have anything set up. I'm hoping to find a DM who either has a world going or is wanting to start one. If you are looking to be a player feel free to post, just understand that a game may be weeks if not months off if I'm gonna be the dm.
Just in case people aren't familiar with it, Dragonlance is a book series originally made as a module for 2nd edition d&d, which spawned several official modules, dozens of novels(57 I think), and hundreds of published short stories. The world of Krynn, and specifically the continent of Ansalon, has almost as much lore as the Forgotten Realms, if not more. If you're not familiar with Dragonlance that is perfectly fine. Just understand that much of what you know about the lore of certain races and monsters is completely different than what you'll find in the content of this world. The new FIZBAN'S TREASURY OF DRAGONS is based on it though... at least Fizban is anyway... don't actually own that one though so I'm not sure...
Also, put your age in your response somewhere. I'm 34. If you're under 18 or can't deal with mature content (cussing, gore, innuendo, etc...) this may not be for you. Not that I expect there to be a great deal of any of that, but I'm not going to censor myself or anyone else just because you're too young.
