Hi All.
New player here, looking for a local group of likeminded folks to play with. I've been playing hobby boardgames for 10+ years, but despite being intrigued by D&D for quite a while, I've never actually given it a go. I signed up for a play by forum game last year and really enjoyed the experience, so figured I'd make a post and see if there were any other folks in Calgary who might be interested in getting together for a face-to-face game. I've not got a huge amount of experience with the game obviously, but I quite like the idea of taking the role of DM for one of the new player modules, such as Lost Mine of Phandelver. I'm sure I'd make way too many mistakes for seasoned players, but if there are any other newbies like me who fancy muddling through and learning the game with me, then just let me know.
I'm 38 and emmigrated to Calgary with my family from the UK back in 2020. I have 2 young kids, so I'd be looking to keep it more casual and maybe get together once a week in the evening.
