*It’s a normal day in Vissarion. Trade between kingdoms happens in a blink of an eye here in the port town’s Cobble Market. Silver finery from Offreland. Textiles from Xoplan. Cocoa treats from Acrary. But what everyone is after is a new fruit that has recently hit the market. Sometimes it’s an apple, a watermelon, or an orange, but the magic is always there. Often, it’s as simple as the fruit tasting like another fruit entirely. Just last week, the charms maker claimed a banana she purchased from the square tasted like a tangerine. Other times, the effects are much more potent. A gnome came fuming into the Cobble Market once, claiming an odd tasting plum turned her blue; a Dragonborn who frequented the market claimed she was blowing pink bubbles from her mouth for a full minute at a dinner party after eating a pineapple. It’s unclear where the fruit is coming from, and it’s difficult to track given the produce can take the form of seemingly any fruit in Odellia. No one has come forward to take credit for the remarkable fruit, but perhaps for good reason. While produce is easy to sell, the purchase and sales unregulated magic items, especially ones made for consumption, is a criminal offense in Brobania. While you personally may not be here in the Cobble Market in hopes of finding some of the curious fruit yourself, the shopping center has many other curious wears, foreign foods, and intriguing doodads to offer.*
This campaign takes place in the homebrew realm of Odellia, where the kingdoms of all races operate under a unified bond, sworn to never war with the other. More often than not, the commonalities between kingdoms ends in a shared tongue and currency. Politics, religion, views on magic, and other qualms are often too divisive for dinner talk between races, but, for the time being, the truce holds strong.
Character Race Guidelines The following races exist in this world, found in the open compendium I will offer to players: Dragonborn Dwarf Elf Gnome Halfling Half-Elf Half-Orc Human Lizardfolk Orc Tiefling
This is not an evil campaign. Characters who are incapable of working with a group will not do well in this story and players choosing characters of chaotic nature (alignment) will find themselves at a disadvantage.
As well as a homebrew setting, this campaign comes with a handful of homebrew and house rules used to optimize immersion and ease of play, all to be discussed in session 0

Name: June
Age: 26
Timezone: CST
Experience with D&D 5e: Been playing consistently for the past 3 years, since the pandemic hit and have DM-ed a couple of campaigns.
How you like to play D&D (think of the pillars of D&D): I am more of a RP player, I love exploring PC character stories and their arcs and how they fit into the world the DM has created. I enjoy exploration as well because I find it interesting to see how the world works and where each character fits into the grand scheme of things. and Combat can be fun, but often takes to long. over all, I am more of a 50/30/20 kind of player, just to even it out.
Character:
Name: Val
Class/Race: Druid, Circle of the Underdark. Drow
Alignment: Lawful Neutral
A few sentences about your character: A rather secretive person, not out of malicious intent, but rather for their own safety. they tend to stick to the shadows and often uses spiders and other small animals to gather information for them. They are slow to trust but loyal should you earn it.
Timezone: GMT +8 (oceanic for now, but USA native)
Experience with D&D 5e: Relatively new to 5E, but I started D&D back in the 90s with 2nd edition.
How you like to play D&D (think of the pillars of D&D): I'm usually a thinker, gravitating toward a neutral good style of play. In combat, I will usually attempt to avoid combat if diplomacy, deception or stealth are viable options. I prefer not to kill fleeing enemies unless there is a legitimate role-playing reason to do so. I like to build concept characters with unique signature moves, not really a power-gamer.
For your character:
Name: not decided yet
Class/Race: I usually stick to the classic fantasy races (Human, Elf, Half-Elf, Dwarf, maybe a Gnome or Halfling)
Alignment: Usually some type of good, and I prefer to role-play a realistic moral character
A few sentences about your character: Well, I haven't decided what my next character will be yet, but I would like to meet the other players and get a feel for their personalities and character preferences before making my final decision. I have a few ideas in my head, such as sorcerer, warlock, druid or bard. If the party needs a healer, I could go with the druid or divine sorcerer. Once I meet the other players, I'll try to work out a backstory that will mesh with the other party members.
