Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Online/discord/roll20/video/audio Experience: New Location/Timezone: EST (see below for more info) Availability: after 10PM EST Friday or Saturday night. Preferred role: Player Game style: Looking for a Semi serious (but still fun)/heavy roleplay game with good discussion and decent fights. I like both, but the story line is usually what sucks me into the game. Can be homebrew or not, but preferably a standard fantasy setting with 5e rules since that's what I'm most familiar with.
This is a pretty specific "request" but I'm putting it into the universe to see what happens!
I'm 36/m and a dad. Looking for a late-ish (for my time zone) Friday or Saturday night game/group to join after the kiddo is in bed (so I don't feel guilty for not helping with dinner/bedtime/bathtime, etc). I am a new player and just joined my first campaign recently, but I've been TRYING to find people to play with for the last couple of years, so during that time I've done a decent amount of research on the game, how to play, watched it, etc. So I wouldn't say that I'm new to all the IDEAS and HOW to play, just definitely new to actually playing the game. So I may have questions, but I catch on quick and take a lot of notes.
I'm in EST so if this is all online/roll20, etc. the other players/dm. can be anywhere/any time zone as long as its the same time for me in EST. (see, told you it was a weirdly specific request). So basically, everyone else can be 7pm west coast if you don't mind an east coaster joining in.
I would preferably like the group to be 21+, it doesn't have to be other parents, but whatever works. I assume we would all have to be semi-flexible with vacations, and random adult things that happen with our schedules so hopefully things can be worked around, adjusted, played around, or planned for ahead of time. I have no issues with inclusivity of any kind, just want to play some good D&D with a more "serious" roleplay and problem solving, critical thinking, etc. Rather than a "I say we just rush in with no plan and start blasting away" kind of game, even if that's the best plan at least it was discussed and talked about before hand.
It doesn't have to be weekly, even though I'm sure most prefer it that.
This is my first time posting here so if I left anything out or if anyone has questions, just ask. I'll attempt to check this pretty regularly. I don't anticipate a super quick response, but maybe there are others with this in mind as well! I debated even putting this on here because at this point MY schedule might not work as often as I'd like. I guess we shall see.
Hey, I read your post and might have a good fit for you. My friday night group just lost a couple of people for the Curse of Strahd campaign we just started and are hoping to fill a couple of seats. It's late evening your time (10pm start time runs three hours) and is a weekly game. We're pretty good at helping newer players learn the ropes, so no issues with experience. The group is ...ridiculously into RP over combat as well XD, so if that's your thing we'd love to have you. If you wanna come chat with some of the players and talk to the DM to see if it'd be a good fit for you I can send you a discord invite?
