Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online Experience: A few years / Newbie Location/Timezone: EST/CST Schedule: As of right now, Fridays evenings are the best for us! Roles sought: DM Game style: Roleplay, exploration, combat. Just looking for a fun game with some fun people!
I dm you on discord, I'm looking to begin online DMing for 5e, my user: dmrazare2023
I'm looking to start DMing online, I've been DMing 5e for in-person sessions for some years. For DMing, I'm looking to use D&D beyond maps feature, I have a DM account on D&D beyond for players to use.
Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Online Experience: face-to-face D&D 5e (DM 30+ sessions, player 20+ sessions), online 3.5 DM/Player (a long time ago) Location/Timezone: EST Availability: Flexible, Friday evenings could work Preferred role: DM DM style: roleplay, combat, sandbox DM style
My DM Style:
Roleplay: I encourage players to roleplay with leading by example, prompting questions to the players, putting the decision on a player, encouraging an interaction out of players who may be too quiet and not comfortable interacting yet. I do voices and different accents for NPC/Monsters naturally but I am no voice actor.
Sandbox DM: I do not railroad, it's true, if you try to follow the module, I will certainly run the module. But if players go off the rails, I love it. I developed my own style of sandbox DMing. If you randomly wander off 30 miles in a geographical direction and start searching for a dungeon to explore, I'll allow you to do this, and if you find a dungeon, it will be populated on-the-fly with online tools plus improv, and I'll go with it.
Limited Homebrew: Players can make homebrew requests, and as DM I throw in dashes of homebrew. I tend to like any homebrew documented, and I don't want overpowered homebrew. Fun homebrew is fine.
Combat: I run probably 1 or 2 (at most) combats per session (depends how fast we are at it). Boss battle sessions are my favorite combat to run. I reward creativity in combat, for example a monk jumping off a building to hit someone, will get bonus damage.
