Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online Experience: GMing for 9 years Location/Timezone: Pacific Standard Time, utilizing Discord, D&D Beyond, and FoundryVTT. Schedule: Thursdays at 7pm PST work best for me! Price per session: $15.50/person -- My StartPlaying profile can be found here! Roles Sought: 4-5 players Game Style: This is a heroic fantasy campaign taking place in a homebrew setting using a modified version of the Dragon of Icespire Peak adventure. Your characters will begin at 1st level and reach 6th level by the end of the adventure.
Campaign Pitch:
A white dragon known as Xaldrikandis has descended upon Athana Spire, claiming the snow-capped peak as its domain. Its presence has displaced beasts and monsters, spurred a cult of orcs and half-orcs that worship Ichor, the god of pride and murder, to initiate a ritual to summon an aspect of their god, and threatens the safety of Sapphira and its people, a mining settlement that rests within Athana's shadow. Will you manage to stop Xaldrikandis and save your hometown of Sapphira?
Combat. 40%
Social. 40%
Exploration. 20%
Personal Expectations
Combat. I run a fairly tactical, but non-deadly game (you might still die if you do something incredibly foolish, however). Adding to this, I use primarily third party monsters not found in the Monster Manual, which means you will be facing creatures that you have probably never seen or rarely seen before. It'll be a brand new experience for you in combat encounters! You won't need to go hard optimizing your character, as I offer plenty of magic items and consumables to make up for the challenging combat encounters.
Roleplaying & Social. I'm not exactly the best at roleplaying. Don't expect Critical Role levels of acting here. But I'm a good writer, which means you'll be in a for a great story featuring some solid characters. As players, I ask that you treat the secondary world as real, and understand that there are consequences to your actions. Also understand that this is a heroic fantasy story; it's expected that you (and your characters, by extension) are going to want to "do the right thing." If that doesn't sit well with you, then this campaign probably isn't for you.
Exploration. I find exploration to be unimportant for this specific adventure. Don't expect to count out rations, tick down torches, or calculate precise traveling speed. It will probably affect you in the early levels (1st thru 3rd, most likely), but after that, traveling will only be a matter of time and space.
