Hello everyone, my wife and I are looking to join or form a group for a preferably offline game of DnD (being responsible and following the rules and regulations regarding covid, of course). Mainly interested in getting a long term campaign going, but open to other stuff. We are located in York, UK so anywhere around the area is game for us.
For the sake of following the posting guidelines, here's the template with the info:
Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Face-to-Face Experience: Newish. Have been DM'ing a game for my wife and 2 other friends for the past year. Location/Timezone: York, UK. GMT. Availability: It varies from week to week. Preferred role: We are both players. Game style: Mainly interested in the roleplaying aspect, but everything is welcome.
So York is in tier 2, which means the rules are: "You must not socialise with anyone you do not live with or who is not in your support bubble in any indoor setting, whether at home or in a public place."
Have you considered playing online until it's safe to socialise with folks face to face again? There are great resources on this very website to do so. https://www.dndbeyond.com/quarantine
I'm taking into account that it'll take a while to get a proper group going, and that the situation might change after the Christmas period. I also tried playing with a group online but I really couldn't immerse myself in the game, or even have fun chatting with the players. The awkward communication channels and lack of interaction and emoting really killed the vibe for me. I guess finding people from around here to start an online game with now, with the promise of continuing it in person once things calm down is alright.
Like I said, hopefully things change soon, so I might as well get the ball rolling now.
Ah, man. I'm over in sunny Hull and would've loved to make the trip a coupe of times a month to play.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Forever DMing with ideas for characters. My characters: Abaddon: Dragonborn Conquest Paladin of Tiamat. Eyrendil Ginn: Half-Elf Swashbuckler Rogue/Pirate. Wear boots with spurs so is always heard coming.
Anyone around the Yorkshire area in search of another experienced player for a one shot/campaign? My circumstances have changed now, so I wouldn't mind the distance. Looking to meet more like-minded people, but I don't quite enjoy the drop-in drop-out nature of stores game nights, so I thought I'd try my luck here again.

Update: We are 5 players already, ready to go. We'd just need a kind DM who'd take us under their wing :)

Hi Any chance you are still looking to form a group?
Cheers!
