While the scars of their mysterious battle faded into memory, the ripples of their actions shaped Phandalin and beyond in ways no one could have foreseen.
In this campaign, you’ll unravel lingering mysteries, forge your own path in a world touched by the past, and witness the continued evolution of the realms. Though rooted in the latter half of the official Shattered Obelisk module, this is not a traditional run-through. As a continuation of a previous story, new threads, unique NPCs, and original challenges await those who dare to step forward.

Hi, my name is Tyler and im trying to get into the dnd circle. Ive never personally played but i really wanna try and get into it with a group that will stay for a while. For my character i would like to sorta have a Frankenstein-like character similar to mary shelley’s original version. Ive drawn out some concepts and etc. and would like to go in more detail if we get in touch. For the play style I would like a mix of both combat and rp as i want to really try and immerse myself into the world

Character Concept:
Amethyst
Tiefling Rogue (Grim Surgeon from Gryphon’s Saddlebag book 2)
A Doctor by trade and choice, Amethyst is a healer first and foremost. However, born in the slums and surrounded by vagabonds and thieves, she learned that no good deed goes unpunished. More then once an injured patient has brought trouble to her door from rivals, victims, or even partners. But she has always maintained that once she has taken a patient she WILL heal them. Thus her skills with anatomy and a scalpel have been turned on more then one attacker. Once they are able to leave safely (at least physically) they must see to their own safety as Amethyst refuses to take sides barring the most extreme circumstances (typically involving children or younger people). This neutrality and her skill have made her a back alley doctor of choice and earned her a measure of respect and protection from some of the larger gangs and crews in her home who realize a skilled healer is a precious commodity. Recent events however and a escalating turf war between up and comers and the established gangs have forced her to relocate for a time out of the city for her own safety and the safety of her patients.
About Myself:
I’m a 38 year old male, working as a custodian at a local school. I’ve always had an interest in stories, in writing, and an interest in the idea of TTRPG’s. But when I was younger in my area their were few chances to really explore that interest, so it sort of sat gathering dust in a corner of my mind. When lockdown happened I had a lot of free time and found myself drawn to programs like dimension 20 and Critical Role which brought that interest back. Since then I have been lucky enough to have a few campaigns I joined and meet some nice folks. I enjoy creating a story, getting invested in characters, and seeing how they grow and evolve over the course of a campaign into sometimes entirely new people far beyond what I envisioned initially.
Playstyle Description:
I do enjoy combat and take a fair degree of pleasure in taking a tactical approach to combat situations. A plan rarely lasts in D&D when it comes to combat particularly when the dice don’t cooperate. But when it DOES there are few sensations sweeter. Beyond that my main interest in D&D is again the chance to make a story, to watch it unfold and reshape itself and my characters.
As an example, I played a game fairly early on set in Exandria, a realm I am fairly familiar with from listening to CR during COVID or when I worked. The character I created was meant more as a somewhat playful, jokey support character. Just meant to be kind of a silly little guy who wanted to help everyone. To explain his unique nature and childlike manners I came up with the idea that he was a sort of homunculus created during the Age of Arcanum as a aide for healers dealing with children. Basically an adorable little creature who was there to comfort the kids when they got scared.
Then we ran into a hidden cultist of one of the Betrayer Gods ……. and without me even planning it this little three foot tall juice drinking healer had a PTSD flashback and broke the cultists knees to keep him from fleeing. It wasn’t planned, but when the moment came and the situation played out this new facet was created and formed unscripted. Those are the moments I love most. When a character through choices and dice rolls surprises even the player.

Character Concept: Kanon D'Vari, the youngest of 4 never fit in with his family. His family was well-respected, though far from wealthy, and his four siblings each carved out their place in the world. Kanon, however, never quite fit in with the careful expectations his parents and siblings had. His father, a sailor, and mother, a baker, ensured their children had what they needed, but the constant pressure to conform never sat well with Kanon. Kanon found that Danger and Adventure were more his style. He loves to hunt for treasure and study ancient ruins. The feeling he gets from all the dangerous situations makes his blood pump and his heart feel full. Kanon is 23 and he is a red tiefling. He has black hair and amber-colored eyes. His motivations for traveling are to find treasure and study ruins. He wants to write a book about all his adventures and tell everyone about his exploits.

About my self, names Tim ( Tando ) I'm 39 USMC Vet, living in Washington state. been a D&D player and DM for about 25 Years now started on 2nd ED in 1999, Married 2 kids.. in a Campaign i joy the environment that the DM puts out, the NPC's liveliness, the attention to detail some have, with the music and npc chatter, i like it when the players interact with each other and goof off a bit yet stay serious at the task at had.....( walking thru a village and 1 player trips another for fun ) oops... i love to RP but not RP heavy, Combat is where its at. last long term group i was with lasted 3 years. 2 campaigns 1 war.
my playstyle is a 30/70 split on Rp/Combat just really depends on the players and DM.. i was in a group where i hardly ever got to talk during the RP, got boring really fast. other then that I'm laid back and observant.

We typically play from 3pm-6pm ET. Myself and one of the other players actually have a second game we are playing in later in the evening so that is usually a hardish stop for us so we can make sure we eat and whatnot before the next game.
