Weapon Mastery (Steinhart’s) feat does not exist to be added, so there is currently no way to gain weapon mastery for any of the new weapons.

posted a message on Monday Dungeons of Drakkenheim campaign LFP

I am looking to start a Dungeons of Drakkenheim campaign (with inspiration and elements from a few other settings thrown in) here on D&D Beyond. I currently only have one players and am looking for at least three to five more. Our aim is to have a weekly, long term narrative focused campaign. Ideally we will start around 4 PM CST and play about four hours, but time can be adjusted. If you are unfamiliar with the setting do not worry, I have prepared a rule and lore primer for new players that can give you the basics of the setting and story.

If you are interested please contact me with a direct message for a player interview.

Circle of the Forged druids are listed as picking their wildshapes as their level divided by 3 rounded down CR, identical to Circle of the Moon druids. However currently when trying to choose a wild shape only cr 1 and lower beasts show up even at higher lvls.

It seems that the repeating crossbow and it’s variants are all coded to use strength rather then dex for attack rolls and damage as they are listed as melee weapons rather then ranged.

None of the content is showing in D&D beyond character creator for me. I have confirmed my licenses are synced, have tried on browser and beyond app. I can download and READ the book but not use any of it.

I also would like to know if this will be updated for the 2024 rules. I HOPE that the 2024 subclasses are just a little delayed and not left out entirely as that is a rather scummy move to not say that anywhere on the store or blog post.

As well, College of Masks only provides a single mask at lvl 3 when the features description states it should be 2.

If there is still an opening available I would love a chance to join.

    Character Concept:

    Amethyst

Tiefling Rogue (Grim Surgeon from Gryphon’s Saddlebag book 2)

A Doctor by trade and choice, Amethyst is a healer first and foremost. However, born in the slums and surrounded by vagabonds and thieves, she learned that no good deed goes unpunished. More then once an injured patient has brought trouble to her door from rivals, victims, or even partners. But she has always maintained that once she has taken a patient she WILL heal them. Thus her skills with anatomy and a scalpel have been turned on more then one attacker. Once they are able to leave safely (at least physically) they must see to their own safety as Amethyst refuses to take sides barring the most extreme circumstances (typically involving children or younger people). This neutrality and her skill have made her a back alley doctor of choice and earned her a measure of respect and protection from some of the larger gangs and crews in her home who realize a skilled healer is a precious commodity. Recent events however and a escalating turf war between up and comers and the established gangs have forced her to relocate for a time out of the city for her own safety and the safety of her patients.

    About Myself:

I’m a 38 year old male, working as a custodian at a local school. I’ve always had an interest in stories, in writing, and an interest in the idea of TTRPG’s. But when I was younger in my area their were few chances to really explore that interest, so it sort of sat gathering dust in a corner of my mind. When lockdown happened I had a lot of free time and found myself drawn to programs like dimension 20 and Critical Role which brought that interest back. Since then I have been lucky enough to have a few campaigns I joined and meet some nice folks. I enjoy creating a story, getting invested in characters, and seeing how they grow and evolve over the course of a campaign into sometimes entirely new people far beyond what I envisioned initially.

    Playstyle Description:

I do enjoy combat and take a fair degree of pleasure in taking a tactical approach to combat situations. A plan rarely lasts in D&D when it comes to combat particularly when the dice don’t cooperate. But when it DOES there are few sensations sweeter. Beyond that my main interest in D&D is again the chance to make a story, to watch it unfold and reshape itself and my characters.

As an example, I played a game fairly early on set in Exandria, a realm I am fairly familiar with from listening to CR during COVID or when I worked. The character I created was meant more as a somewhat playful, jokey support character. Just meant to be kind of a silly little guy who wanted to help everyone. To explain his unique nature and childlike manners I came up with the idea that he was a sort of homunculus created during the Age of Arcanum as a aide for healers dealing with children. Basically an adorable little creature who was there to comfort the kids when they got scared.

Then we ran into a hidden cultist of one of the Betrayer Gods ……. and without me even planning it this little three foot tall juice drinking healer had a PTSD flashback and broke the cultists knees to keep him from fleeing. It wasn’t planned, but when the moment came and the situation played out this new facet was created and formed unscripted. Those are the moments I love most. When a character through choices and dice rolls surprises even the player.

posted a message on LFG to play free weekend game (CST) over Discord

    Game: D&D 5e
    Group preferred: Online
    Experience: Fairly New
    Location/Timezone: CST OR -6 GMT
    Availability: Saturday and Sunday
    Preferred role: Player
Game style: I have a personal fondness for role play, but would like to try multiple styles to assist in finding my own.

Hello. My name is Curtis, 36 years old, he/him, Central Standard Time or -6 GMT if you prefer, native English speaker. I have only played a few games but I think of myself as being fairly well versed in the rules so I should require minimal if any direction in that regard. I was always an avid reader and more “indoor” type of person. I love to create my own stories and characters, to for a moment be someone else. I have always had an interest in D&D but when I was younger I never got a chance to play.

Infact this is part of the reason I am looking for a group now. As I’ve gotten older my social anxiety has gotten somewhat better, but I can look back in hindsight and see how it effected me, good and bad. Combine that with taking a job in my local school district as a janitor and seeing the younger children and teens, I realized a fair few of them were like me at that age as well.

I want to play with more people and groups, in part, to build my experience and understanding of the game and the various tools to play it so that I can bring a proposal to my employers about starting a tabletop gaming club. I want to give those kids who are more introverted and socially awkward something besides sports to join and make connections, help them out of their shells and feel more comfortable with themselves and others. And if I bring the proposal to the board, I have been warned by a few people I have spoken to I would most likely need to be the one to run it.

Which as neither a teacher nor a experienced player or DM is a bit daunting, I will admit. But I genuinely believe this could help some people.

I am available for play at any time Saturday or Sunday year round. Weekdays are a bit more difficult as I am an evening janitor and work until seven in the evening (barring events at school and holidays) but if a group was playing around 7:30 CST or later I could do so most days.

If there are any groups that might be willing to help me out, please leave a message here or send me a private message and I will contact you as soon as I am able to provide any additional information you might wish. Thank you and have a good evening!

posted a message on Fairly New Player LF CST Group

Like the title suggests, I am a fairly new D&D player, with only a few sessions experience. I do the occasional bit of amateur writing however and have played a handful of sessions of D&D so far. I’m looking for a group in CST (Central Standard Time) that is looking for a weekend game (Saturday or Sunday). I’m 36 years old, male, fairly laid back (or at least try to be) and comfortable playing most any type of character, from a comedic juice loving Kobold riding a Drake into battle to a quiet, intense detective, to a charming but secretive nobleman hiding his past.

I am also willing to ATTEMPT to DM (I freely admit I have never done it so my experience is fairly limited) at least some of the starting campaigns like Dragon’s of Icespine Peak and it’s follow ups. I lack a webcam and have no real interest in videoing sessions, but I can and will use discord and voice chat.

Free games ONLY please. Money is FAR to tight with the state of the world right now.

My time zone is Central Standard here in the US. Ideally I would want something FAIRLY close? My time is fairly flexible on the weekends and if it’s an afternoon game most any time is fine with me.

posted a message on Relatively New Player looking for a Weekend Game

Hello all. I recently started to look into playing D&D (slowly buying up the books here on D&D beyond to expand my options and such.) and would love to find a game that is friendly to a relative newbie. I played Dark Heresy by Fantasy Flight Games a while back but the group kind of fell apart. I enjoy a good story more then anything and would love a chance to play with some people. I am open to play most any role or class (I’ve actually made a character for each class already) a game might need. My time zone is Central Standard (-6 UTC). If there is interest I can share some of the characters I have thrown together (all level 3).
