Name: The Wyrmsong (LGBTQ+ friendly) System: D&D 5e (Mix of 2014&2024) Roles Sought: 1 or 2 players Time: Saturday Evenings UK (BST/GMT+1) 18:00 to about 21:00ish (sometimes slightly later, depending on the session). We play almost every week but occasionally take a week off. Age: 30+ please (this is not a hard and fast rule, it's more just that we're all in our 30s and early 40s) How we play: Online. We use Discord for Voice Chat, DnDBeyond for Character Sheets/Rolls and Talespire for combat. If you don't have Talespire, it's not a problem as you can use one of our 'free guest seats'.
About the campaign:
'5 anchors to seal her at bay, 5 lights to guide her way.'
After being sealed away for millennia, a shadowy cult is set on releasing the Wyrm from her imprisonment. Through unlucky happenstance, and the gentle prodding of Fate herself, a group of adventurers have found themselves embroiled in the plot.
The Wyrmsong is an ongoing campaign set in a homebrew medieval fantasy world. You'd be joining us part way through the campaign but don't worry about having missed a lot already, we'll run a session 0.5 to help you find your way in the world. We like a mix of roleplay, exploration and combat. Roleplay and story are definitely important parts of the mix as we love developing and exploring both the overarching narrative and individual character stories.
Campaign Inspirations: Dragon Age/The Wheel of Time books/Dragon Lance books/The Witcher/Frieren: Beyond Journey's End/Buffy and anything else that's knocking around my brain.
Bit about us: We’re a close group of friends (3 males and 1 female) who've been playing videogames together for years. Three of us are from the UK and one of us is from Sweden. We started playing D&D together about 5 years ago. We love to world build and tell interesting stories together. Hopefully, you will find us a relaxed and inclusive group who essentially just love to play D&D and to have fun!
What we are looking for: One of our regular players had to step away for personal reasons and although we're still having lots of fun as a DM and a party of 3 players, we thought it would be a good time to add a new player to the mix. It's always good to make new friends! Ideally, we're really looking for the right person who would like to join our gaming group long-term. We're looking for someone who can make most sessions and can commit to the game (this is a long campaign) so please consider this before messaging. We're also looking for someone who really loves to roleplay their character and is interested in and engages with not only their own story, but the stories of other characters and the larger narrative. As I like to weave character backstory heavily into the main story, it's also important that you're willing to work with me to create a character based within the setting.
As an aside, it would also be great to recruit someone who has experience of DMing or someone who might be interested in potentially DMing in the future, or even someone who considers themselves a forever DM who'd like to join a game where they can be finally be a player. Again, this is in no way a prerequisite (it's just for the pipe dream of potentially getting to be a player myself at some point in the far-off future).
If you made it this far and are still interested, please DM me with your name, age, pronouns, along with a small "about me" section and what interests you most from this post. Thank you so much in advance! Looking forward to hearing from you!
As a member of this group I realise my bias however, I've had the most fun playing with this group!
Torfe is an awesome DM and uses lots of character backstory to co-create great stories that fit into the wider narrative. The rest of the players are great too, super chill, no drama group who just want to have fun, kick some butt and tell great creative stories!
I am certain that anyone joining us will have a lot of fun and I for one can't wait to make a new friend or two to share the experience with :)
Hello, I'm Andie (she/her), a queer 34-year-old living in Portland, OR. I'd love to join your group, this sounds like such a fun time! I'm relatively new to the game as a player, having only played once before, but I fell in love with it quickly. For the past three years, I've been running it as a DM and am excited for the chance to experience it from the other side of the table! I love storytelling and world building, and diving into the role playing aspect of my characters it’s one of my favorite part of the game, that is what interested me the most from your post! Thanks for your consideration! I hope to hear from you. A
Hi! Idk exactly how this works but I am looking for a group to start playing dnd. I always wanted to play but never had anyone, I did improv in highschool so I always loved acting out a scene and dnd seems like the perfect outlet for that.
A little about myself, I am a 30 yrs old French Canadian gay man, I'd like to think I'm pretty funny and always up for a good time with friends! I'm pretty laid back and chill in general.
Now more importantly, my PC is called Orion, Dawnbreaker. He is a half-elf (high elf) noble light cleric, devoted to our Morninglord Lathander. He is good but a little chaotic (likes fire too much and burning away corrupted beings). His story started when a ray of golden sunlight bathed the entire kingdom even tho it was night time at his birth. His mother sadly passed away soon after giving birth to him in mysterious circumstances. It brought indirect shame on his family, who for centuries had taken pride in never asking for any kind of help from the divine spheres and seeing such a display of divine power made them seem like hypocrits. During his teen years he was declared to be favored by Lathander and set on the path of becoming a fully fledged cleric. This created a rift between him and his father who never really liked him to begin with, it turned his general indifference into full blown cruelty. This is what gave him the final push to go away and follow the strings of fates pulling at his soul. He WILL find a way to bring back his family's good name and find out what exactly happened to his mother!
Well that's pretty much it :p do let me know if you're interested in me!
you had me at 'Dragon Age' as an inspiration as that was the very first video game I ever played :D I used to play DnD with my friend group (homebrew, oneshots and a prematurely ended Waterdeep campaign) during the Great Plague online, until noone had time anymore. Fast forward to 2025 and me getting Baldur's Gate as a gift for my Birthday, I'm now looking for a group to refresh my knowledge, skill, and sate my hunger for roleplay and storytelling. I'm from Germany, an active roleplay writer of 15 years by now, am available most evenings and weekends and also very flexible. I'm also open to learning how to DM and due to my soon to be wife, we have a ton of DM-ing equipment already, I have however not yet found the courage to take on the responsibility for a group myself. I'd be very grateful for a chance to build my expertise as a player wit you, as your posting also struck a chord with me and I feel like we could just vibe well - character development, arcs and bringing the numbers to life is what I love most about D&D, as well as the friends found on two levels along the way. It sounds like that is what you cherish, too. And if in the end I'd get a chance to learn all I need to do that very first oneshot as a DM? Sounds like a Jackpot to me!
My favourite class to play is Rogue, but I'm open to other roles, if you already have someone to fix locked-door-problems. Thanks so much in advance for reading this and maybe even considering me!

About me: I have been playing and DMing since the 1980s. I usually prefer to play heroic characters that want to help others. I want to make new friends and enjoy playing in a game where I can enjoy the adventure and roleplay. I'm never sure what else to say about myself.
I am a fan of most of your influences... though I never saw 'Buffy other than the movie (which was good). I LOVE the idea of a long Campaign and your premise sounds very interesting.
Thank you so much for all of the responses, the private messages and the interest! Really means a lot! When I get a chance today, I'm going to respond properly and send out some DMs. Thank you!

Adding me to this game would be fulfilling a never achieved fantasy of playing DND during the afternoon. Think of it, with the timezone difference I am always avail to play late and never tired! I have played in 6-7 campaigns on roll 20/discord, I have Talespire and a good mic. Just looking for a good game with friendly people. I like to take time to learn about everyones character and share the spotlight. I am to play characters that people want to interact with and that want to interact with players and the world. So I don't really have characters to pitch until I get a chance to chat first and figure out the game dynamics and story.
Thank you so much for all of the interest and responses. I really appreciate it! I've now filled the spot. Thanks once again for your time. If you're happy for me to do so, I'll keep everyone in mind for future campaigns/one-shots though.
Thanks!
