Inexperienced player, LF campaign

Hi there, I'm an 18+ player interested in joining a campaign! I've been interested in D&D for well over a few years now, but haven't sought out to join a game due to my inexperience. I have a grasp of the mechanics from playing a few one-shots in the past, but may still be learning or rusty, however I have been roleplaying for well over 10 years now (oh, geez). I'm a college student as of the next three weeks though plan on taking a gap, otherwise I will be starting work up again in the summer, usually over the week but as needed on the weekends (thus, availability can be iffy). While I really am looking for a group, I'd also be interested in a community and seeing what they have to offer! 

Character-wise, I have some concepts and ideas, although admittedly might be more ideal for a homebrew setting. I love character creation and creating character art, so I'd have no problem creating a new character! I'd love to be able to chat with GM about creating a character for more immersion into the world.

Game: D&D 5e
Group preferred: Online (preference for Discord)
Experience: Inexperienced/mostly new (have played a couple of one-shots, but still learning some mechanics)
Location/Timezone: United States, CST
Availability: Preference for starting later (7-8:00 pm CST) and on Friday/Saturdays. Weekly, bi-weekly, once a month, any are fine!
Preferred role: Player
Game style: Roleplay or casual
