Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Online Experience: A few one-shots played years ago, nothing recent. Location/Timezone: Kentucky (EST) Availability: Saturdays would probably be best, but if need be I might be able to do something during the week. Preferred role: Player Game style: Casual Role Play, looking for something Critical Role-ish.
I've never tried an online D&D Campaign, so this will be a first!
Stay at home mom, student and soon to be wife. 27 years, and have dotted in and out of D&D since I was small.
I can't do face to face meetings, I have a small child and other responsibilities that keep me from traveling large distances to meet up and sometimes even leaving on a dedicated day is difficult. But since I am home most of the time, online play shouldn't be as difficult to schedule around.
I was part of a D&D club when I was in high school, but that was nearly 10 years ago. Have had the itch to play a campaign but very few people play locally and trying to meet up with people face to face tends to be quite a hassle with scheduling (not to mention lack of players). So sticking to online would be best for me would be best. I've been playing catch up with Critical Role (still catching up) and it's only intensified the itch.
I'm totally new to this online version of play, and would need to have some things explained. But I will try my best.
If you find something or are looking for someone in the same ish situation as you let me know. I would love to find a group that understands the chaotic schedules of parents.
Absolutely, I even tried looking on Roll20 but most people want to have huge games several hours long with video and voice chat, I'd just like something simple through text to avoid annoying everyone in the house with yelling, fangirling and language lol (I don't mind it in text because my kid can't read yet lmao) and with parents being parents, its damn near impossible to set aside 5-6 hours worth of playtime. We have errands to run, bottles to make, and diapers to change--not to mention the rest of the responsibility we shoulder lol
If it proves to be too difficult, I might try to DM and host such a game, but it'll take time to make
I had not! I'm as green as grass here and still learning my way around the site :) Thanks so much for the link--I'll check it out as soon as I have ample time!
