We are trying to have a one-shot today to start building some chemistry, and we are a few players short! If you want to join, please join us on Discord:
Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Online Experience: A few years (5ish by now? Ran my own homebrew campaign for ~1 year with weekly meetings) Location/Timezone: Central Standard Time Availability: Evenings and weekends. Preferred role: DM Game style: I would like to lead a RP-heavy game where we can have some laughs but also explore issues that matter to us. Whether that may be gender expression, diversity, xenophobia/stereotypes, overcoming adversity, I want to create a safe space where we can challenge ourselves to grow through shared storytelling.
I want to start with a "session zero" with my players where we can decide the type of campaign that we want to run, and agree on some basic rules/homebrew. It is also important for me to have a group that is safe and starts to develop some chemistry, so we will have some time to play a one-off introductory adventure and see how we get along.
My DMing style favours RP, but I try to throw in enough fights and challenges to keep the story lively. Many of my encounters can be resolved non-violently, but sometimes a gelatinous cube drops from the ceiling and there's no arguing with it! I also like to keep my world "alive" as the players adventure within it. If they get side-tracked dungeon delving on the way to fight off a rampaging red dragon, they may arrive to their destination to find it charred! I also like to play with the "Rule of Cool". As long as it is not game-breaking, I am willing to bend the rules a little to let my players do awesome and creative things.
I am open to players of any skill level, newbies and vets alike. I do ask that my players are 18+ and willing to use a microphone to play. I would prefer webcams too, but that can be negotiated with the group.
So, if this sounds interesting to you, drop me a line here or join the Discord server and answer the following:
Name and pronouns:
A little about yourself: (share as much or as little as you wish!)
Experience level:
Availability (please include time zone):
How long is your ideal D&D session? (2ish hours? 6+ hour marathons?)
Would you prefer a homebrew world, or a pre-made adventure? (and if so, which?)
What over all tone would you prefer for our shared story? (whimsical, serious, horror, mystery, etc)
A little about yourself: (share as much or as little as you wish!) I’m a new player that just wishes to start a campaign and enjoy myself. I am disabled and it allows me to play at any time of day for as long as I so choose. If you would like to get to know me better just ask questions as I’m very bad at introducing myself and anything
Experience level: beginner
Availability (please include time zone): all day everyday
How long is your ideal D&D session? (2ish hours? 6+ hour marathons?) doesn’t matter to me
Would you prefer a homebrew world, or a pre-made adventure? (and if so, which?) any!
What over all tone would you prefer for our shared story? (whimsical, serious, horror, mystery, etc) any!
Hi Hannah, nice to make your acquaintance! Since you mentioned you are a beginner, have you played any D&D before? (no problem if not, I just want to know where you are at)
You are welcome to jump the discord server (https://discord.gg/7TG3jp ) as I am likely to answer faster over there than here (though here is OK too for now).

Glad to have you here Connor, feel free to hop on the Discord channel (https://discord.gg/SjWt9s6). Once we have a couple more people, we can chat about how we want to run this further.
I am currently looking for a long-term group to join consistently on a weekly or bi-weekly schedule, that has reliable players and a talented DM. I am in Vancouver, PST, free weekdays after 6pm, and weekends all day. Mostly I'm interested in having fun, with dedicated roleplay and detailed characters a close second, and am alright with streaming as long as it doesn't negatively affect the game. I have several characters you can choose from, with backstories I can adjust to fit your scenario, including a twitchy gnoll druid who speaks basic common.
D&D is high enough in my priority list that I will always work my schedule around it, or at least be available with a portable mic and my phone when traveling. My work does involve occasional travel however they are extremely flexible and I pretty much call the shots, hence my portable Youmic lapel podcasting mic. My setup involves a suitable PC with dual monitors, a Neewer mic with boom stand, pop filter, and power supply; which I purchased mostly for roleplaying and gaming through Discord. I have played a number of sessions only using Roll20, and have very decent knowledge of 5e mostly thanks to years of listening to podcasts like Critical Role.
I hope to increase voice acting experience as much as possible, as my diversity of voices & sounds is not extensive (I do a really good crow). I'm male, in my early 30's, and hope to attend a mock-session or meet-up to see if I mesh well with your group. Thanks for reading my 15 min long dissertation on joining your group! :P

Well, I hope I qualify as a talented DM! I do understand that life gets in the way at times, but I definitely appreciate your willingness to work around issues to play. Hop on Discord and let's have a chat, and see how we all get along.
Also, I don't know if this is an issue, but I don't envision streaming our game at this point. I would prefer to focus on the people at the table rather than trying to create (and promote) a podcast/twitch stream. -- as much as I'd like to make it big and meet Matt Mercer --

Wonderful to hear from you! Definitely looking for people who want to create a fun game together. Hop on Discord and lets chat some more:
A little about yourself: I am pretty new and looking for a good time.
Experience level: Almost completely fresh (read the PHB though and watcehd a few game sessions)
Availability (please include time zone): GMT+2 almost daily after 8pm
How long is your ideal D&D session? (2ish hours? 6+ hour marathons?) I am fine with 4-6 hours
Would you prefer a homebrew world, or a pre-made adventure? (and if so, which?) That should be a group decision but if I were to make a suggestion I would like to play through Hoard of the Dragon Queen and Rise of Tiamat.
What over all tone would you prefer for our shared story? (whimsical, serious, horror, mystery, etc) Since I do not have much experience I would like the DM to decide that.
A little about yourself: (share as much or as little as you wish!) 42yo Black guy who loves DnD. Always had interest in it but never got really down to playing it until the virus hit. I will say CR really got me wanting to play it but I also know all DnD games aren't like it and I don't expect them to be. I just want to have to fun and make some friends.
Experience level: about 6 months. Was in 2 campaigns, one is still going strong and having a blast in it, the other fell apart, it just never seemed to be able to get off the ground.
Availability (please include time zone): EST, Weekends preferably in the evenings is best for me like 7pm EST.
How long is your ideal D&D session? (2ish hours? 6+ hour marathons?) 4+ hrs the time seems to go by quickly especially if you are really getting in the the game.
Would you prefer a homebrew world, or a pre-made adventure? (and if so, which?) I've only have experience with homebrew but I seem to like it a bit more because it seems open wor;d and not a set goal or possibly less railroady but I'm willing to do premade to as long as it's not totally on rails.
What over all tone would you prefer for our shared story? (whimsical, serious, horror, mystery, etc) a mix of it all
Good to have you here Chris, hop on over to Discord and meet the folx who have joined already. For what it's worth, I'm a huge CR fan and while I'd rather have a game that's true to myself and my players rather than a CR clone, I do hope I can find that kind of camaraderie and fun!
A little about yourself: (share as much or as little as you wish!): okay i'm 22 i'm new kinda but i love dnd i have been watching dnd campagin for the past 7 months and i love it, i didn't get the chance to play a full campagin before so i'm pretty excited to try it. i want to have fun and meet new people from other countries (i'm egyptian btw).
Experience level: newbie
Availability (please include time zone): i'm free most of the time but it all depends on your time zone, preferbly weekends (GMT)
How long is your ideal D&D session? (2ish hours? 6+ hour marathons?): 2 or 3 hours
Would you prefer a homebrew world, or a pre-made adventure? (and if so, which?) idk but whatever suits the group
What over all tone would you prefer for our shared story? (whimsical, serious, horror, mystery, etc): mystery
I am going to fill this out for my best friend as well. Hope you don't mind
Name and pronouns: Tiff (She/Her)
A little about yourself: I am a gay 20 year old college student and have only played a one shot before. I would love to get more experience with people I am comfortable to be myself around (thank you for being so open) and make some friends along the way.
Experience level: New
Availability (please include time zone): EST and free weekends and Friday (sometimes also Monday) nights
How long is your ideal D&D session? 2ish hours maybe 3 if we are really immersed
Would you prefer a homebrew world, or a pre-made adventure? (and if so, which?) Whatever is okay with me, I am new so as long as everyone is okay with me being slow to pick it up then it works for me :)
What over all tone would you prefer for our shared story? (whimsical, serious, horror, mystery, etc) mystery or horror sound really cool
Name and pronouns: Isaiah (He/Him)
A little about yourself: 21 year old college student, got really into watching critical role and it seems like it would be a lot of fun. We could really use an escape from classes and have a good time with new people
Experience level: total newbie
Availability (please include time zone): EST same as Tiff ^
How long is your ideal D&D session? (2ish hours? 6+ hour marathons?) 2 - 3 hours as well
Would you prefer a homebrew world, or a pre-made adventure? (and if so, which?) anything works for me. Have tried to find a group/dm for about a year
What over all tone would you prefer for our shared story? (whimsical, serious, horror, mystery, etc) anything works for me as long as its pretty casual
A little about yourself: (share as much or as little as you wish!) 26yo I've been wanting to play for a long time, but can never get a group together or find someone that can DM.
Experience level: I have played 2 campaigns, but never got to finish either due to reasons beyond my control.
Availability (please include time zone): CST, preferably in the evenings, after 7ish. Available most nights but would prefer weekends.
How long is your ideal D&D session? (2ish hours? 6+ hour marathons?) Around 2-3 hours but pretty flexible on it.
Would you prefer a homebrew world, or a pre-made adventure? (and if so, which?) Either really.
What over all tone would you prefer for our shared story? (whimsical, serious, horror, mystery, etc) I'm pretty much down for anything.
