alert feat for monk

So im trying to have my monk have the alert feat, but when i go to manage feats, theres only 2 options, and i know the monk can have alert (im new btw)

do i have to pay for it? or am i just mistake

You will need to own the player's handbook to have access to that feat.

You can also buy just the feat for $1.99.  If you buy the PHB later this will be deducted from the purchase price.
