I have been trying to find a good Monk guide that includes all of the published books and provides a full explanation for all of the options for a Four Elements and all of the races, feats, and background options. Anyone know where to find one? If not, I might just make one myself, I have been thinking about doing so for a while now.
There's an up-to-date guide available on these forums. I can't speak to the quality because I've never been able to get past the awful title and number of typos. It also doesn't bother to cover the Four Elements monk - for that, you can check out a dedicated guide like this one. If you're really interested in going the Four Elements path, I would definitely talk to your DM about making some changes to help offset the limitations of the class - see, for example, the crowdsourced remaster version here.
The reason I ask is that I am a DM myself and I am trying to find guides for all of the classes that cover everything and suggests to my semi-new players how to improve their play styles. I need that all-inclusive guide and the best I have found that does it somewhat well except spells (I would want another opinion) is http://rpgbot.net/dnd5/characters/classes/.
It's hard to find something truly comprehensive. I've never found a guide which gives due credit to the Wiz/Monk (Wi-nk)MC. I acknowledge it's MAD and requires careful allocation, but with the introduction of bladesinging, an Elf wink is a viable and flexible option. It still lacks charisma RP functionality but is a very versatile build, especially with a wizard intro level to give better saves. Con saves are great. I don't dispute that, but with high Dex, you get three solid modifier/saves rather than one great save and one slough.
Thank you for your post and comments. I always learn something new in the message boards.

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in awhile.

I actually am considering making my own guides and this was put out before that idea.
