So as part of a personal quest to find the strongest wolf in fiction/mythology I call upon my rpg gaming compatriots. I'm looking for some of the most powerful Wolves ever depicted in fiction (gaming, movies, tv shows etc.) or Mythology (including history). Here are the:
1: The individual must have established feats (we can't argue on speculation)
2: The individual must be a wolf or wolf-like species, i.e. not a fox, not a hound, etc.
3: The individual must not be capable of polymorphing, i.e. no werewolves or human/wolf transforming etc.
4: An individual is considered to be the apex of their alternate forms (i.e. Fenrir exists in multiple forms of media but is taken as it's most powerful)
Currently I have a few candidates, but I'm looking for more suggestions.
Tis true but Fenrir eats a few GODS (including the all powerful ODIN), bites one's hand off, and ultimately is destined to take over all of yggdrasil which is pretty much the norse multiverse.
He does, but Norse gods are, lets be honest, mortal. They know it. They are aware they will die and are not intrinsically more powerful than other deities (some of whom have stupid levels of power, like what Zeus did to Typhon). Being a god is kind of a title, Makami is a god yet is likely nowhere near as powerful as say... Dionysus. I give Fenrir a respectful birth because I understand that he is supposed to eat the sun, (so is skoti though, awkward).
Fenrir is truthfully VERY powerful in his appearances and destiny, there is no arguing that, but in my opinion, feel free to disagree with this if you will I won't mind, the Toriko universe is almost DBZ levels of stupidly OP. The problem I feel with Guinness is the boss he fights when he finally fights is even more OP (end of story level boss) and if it would have met Fenrir would have eaten Fenrir too.
I'll nominate Carcharoth from the Silmarillion, since I don't believe he's a shapechanger even though he's a werewolf. He's not stupidly OP, but he bit off someone's hand, survived eating a gem that held divine power, wasn't fazed by a forcefield that was created by an angel, and killed the most powerful greyhound ever.

NO! GREYHOUNDS! I quit reading the Beren and Luthien book as it had no real story to it, so I didn't know that.
I like Turin better, but I enjoyed most of the Silmarillion.

Sarulf. Literally as old as the cosmos. Was so dangerous that all the gods worked together to bind him. Then annoyed his guards so much that they were forced to move him. He escaped while being guarded by gods. Not the most powerful, but definitely up there and definitely the most powerful from MtG (so far).

This isn't actually a signature, just something I copy and paste onto the bottom of all my posts. Or is it? Yep, it is. Or is it..? I’m a hobbit, and the master cranial imploder of the "Oops, I Accidently Destroyed Someone's Brain" cult. Extended sig. I'm actually in Limbo, it says I'm in Mechanus because that's where I get my WiFi from. Please don't tell the modrons, they're still angry from the 'Spawning Stone' fiasco. No connection to Dragonslayer8 other than knowing them in real life.

I nominate The Gmork, because I'm fairly sure that The Gmork has terrified more people than Fenrir ever did.
Admittedly he also got stabbed by a child, so that doesn't really put him on par with god-wolves, but for "how many people still have nightmares about them", The Gmork is probably the winner, hands-down.

Fenrir is pretty powerful. (I love norse. I study it all the time)
Back in black baby
While I agree, Fenrir is quite powerful, Guinness did this by putting it's foot down:

Sarulf (mtg) is just MTG's Fenrir
Its lore is slightly different, but yes.
