I mean, I don't think we'd have Vampire the Masquerade without her, and without the style of play promoted in that game's storyteller system I don't know if the TTRPG hobby would be quite where it is today. I wonder if the Hickmans would even give her some credit for the imaginative germs behind Strahd.
Thanks for putting this out there Penelope. When I read her obituaries when it was breaking news, I hadn't considered the tangential influence on the hobby I think I'm realizing here. I can't say I ever particularly cared for her writing style (I remember trying to sit down and read Interview with a Vampire and waking up. with the book still on page 3) but her world building imagination impressed me.
She was a great vampire writer and I loved her lush and descriptive writing style. Blessed be.
