*I guess I'll try to do a flip or something and land it outside the pool*

 “Very impressive!” Zalius calls. “Race you!” He immediately dives to the bottom of the pool.

Athletics 15

 "Alright, but let me try something first." Chan brings up memories of endless expanses of hot, black rock from the desert he grew up in. With a soft flash of light, a small boulder, about 2 to 3 feet long, appears, and drops into the water. Steam immediately rises. "Watch out, Zalius. That rock is very hot. I'm trying to see if it will warm up the pool enough for me to get in." Chan waits for a bit. 

"Dont worry. I only need to wait a little longer, then I can de-summon it."

Tel'chan keeps feeling the water, until it seems at least a little bit warmer. The boulder vanishes, and Chan leaps in.
