The moon has gone black while somehow remaining visible. It hangs low over the Inn, dripping fetid ichor to the earth below. Something begins to emerge from the festering eye cursing our skies, an abomination wrapped in black-and-orange fabric. The monstrous thing falls to the ground with a softness impossible for an entity of such prodigious size from such an impressive height.
The horrid monstrosity begins to stand, poising like a cyclopean insect, dripping unspeakable fluids to the ground...
Wait, is that a circus tent?
It is! A massive black-and-orange circus big top stands at the edge of town as hundreds of carnies, vendors, and side shows pour out of it.
The carnival is back in town.
