Maroque sits up. "So who are you? Why are you here?"
"My name is Krist, and I am no one important. I am here to simply watch you is all. I am sorry I'm my presence has disturbed you."
Maroque rubs his temples. "I'm guessing you're one of those guys that think I need to have an eye kept on me or something? Well, you're right." He stands up. "By the time I'm done with this world, there will be no light for you to see me by."

"I... I can understand that you care." He sighs. "In all honesty, I have nothing against you, whether you are human as you appear or divine as you speak. My hatred burns for the Ur-God. That demon, the Divine Light. The one that gave mortals that spark of... whatever it is that drives them to carve and peel at my spouse. He asks, smoothing out the front of his suit "You may not share the same spark, but you share the same driven passion. I understand you would do anything to save them, even getting more blood on your hands till they turn as dark as night, but that is the wrong way to go." He chuckles "but what do I know... Just a silly old man."
Greg sits down next to Sytosc. "So.. um... who are you?"
"I was a friend of Raphael's. My name is Sytosc, and I'm a food critic from somewhere farther away than you can imagine. I don't mean that figuratively, either. You want a s'more? I made the graham crackers myself."
The dwarf nods, taking one, before eating it, they ask: "You some extraplannar like Raphael?"
"Almost, but not quite. I've been to many other planes, but the Material is my home."
“Mmm… not supernatural or anything?”

Crie doesn't look at Krist. "You would never understand. I don't want people to be hurt... I want them to change. There is no place in any world for mortals as they are now. The Nielle... my blood... it makes them more like me. But if they reject it, if they try to purge me and use me like they did my Sovereign, my sweet, darling angel... I will prod, pull, and peel until I think they have suffered enough!!"
He roars the last sentence, not to Krist, but to the whole world.

Krist stares into the distance, his eyes betraying a far away look. "My own wife is in the ground, rest her soul. I thought I set her in a safe place to rest but they built a shop on top of her. I can't even go to see my own wife's grave. I can't sit by it when I am feeling down. I can't place flowers on t to respect her." He said, standing up. He leaned on his cane "Suffering leads to nothing except hurt and resentment..." He sighs and rubs the bridge of his nose "They change.. I know they do. They have killed and slaughtered, but they have also hoped and dreamed. They tried to become more than they are, they try to protect and survive. Not everything they do is bad, but their intentions in the moment are wrong."
He looks at Crie and smiles sadly. "I don't think they deserve to suffer. They already make each other suffer enough. Wars, Famines, Hate... It all happens by them, to each other..."

He looks at Crie and smiles sadly. "I don't think they deserve to suffer. They already make each other suffer enough. Wars, Famines, Hate... It all happens by them, to each other..."
The god of darkness considers this for a minute. "Imagine if, instead of your wife dying, they crucified her. They impaled her, over and over again, and kept her from dying, then built a shop on top of her, using her spine as a pillar. Imagine they just kept building and building as the weight of the building slowly crushed her. And the shop owner imports fire ants and puts them at the foot of the crucifix, and they ate her and ate her and drilled down to the bone and they knew exactly what they were doing. People start claiming stock over her, saying that they own a kidney or a lung or a fingernail. Imagine you had to watch this entire thing, unable to comfort your wife, unable to talk to her, to tell her how much you love her or that she'll be alright. There was no reason for any of it. There was no desire for profit, no family to feed. The shop owner just wanted to see if he could."
"Now, after millennia of being in that situation, Krist, wouldn't you begin to hate? To hate the shop owner? The crucifix? The shop? The ants? The stockholders? What if you could take your beloved away from this whole situation, at the cost of destroying the shop? You could bring her home, and hold her and love her again after millions of years of just watching her suffer. Would you really care about how much pain those ants are in when you remove her?"

"I wouldn't." He said and chuckled, a tear running down his wrinkled, scarred cheek. "Because I know what they did is wrong, but I would forgive. I would be angry, yes, but I wouldn't hurt them for what they did, because that would mean I would stoop to their level. I wouldn't cause hurt, just like they caused to me and my wife." He leaned wearily on his cane.
