"Oh. I'm sorry," he replies. He doesn't sound very sorry. "Do you need anything?"
The man catches the knife and tosses it back, handle first, along with three gold coins. "Very close! Almost got me!"
*I gtg in 4 minutes*
"No, i don't want to impose" the boy says softly, "Besides, you smell of dying things." he adds, "In a different way from miss yuri"
"Thank you," he smiles, catching both
"I work with smoke and steel and fish. But that doesn't mean I'm a bad person. I'm a bad person for other reasons, but my smell isn't one of them."
"Wanna try again?" He throws his coat back and pulls a beautiful red throwing knife from his pocket before putting it back. "I know you have the skill!"

"I trust Yuri's judgment. I'm her partner, and I own the factory. So if anyone wants to hurt you or anything you care about, they will have to go through me."
*Let's just say that hits, since odds are it would have anyway since it's only a 23* His pocket is sliced open, and coins begin to spill out. Far too many to have fit in his pocket int the first place. All sorts of treasures pour out in the torrent, including the pocket watch and the throwing knife. He holds up a hand and the blade flies to meet his grasp. He walks over, leaking coins the whole way, and holds out the blade handle first. "Worth a fortune, and it will save you a fortune too. It returns after being thrown or dropped, and it's designed to be easy to control and throw. Never saw the point myself, but I thought you might like the trick." (+2 returning dart, can deal an extra d4 of necrotic, fire, or poison damage, chosen when the attack is made.)

"Oswald Grouper." He shakes with his big leather glove. The leather is soft and well-cared for, but has clearly been damaged too many times to count. His grip is strong, but gentle enough not to hurt as he gives two firm, confident shakes. "It's an honor. Few have captured Yuri's eye, let alone her heart."
"The world is mad," he replies, moving two fingers and sewing up his pocket with glowing red energy. "I'm just enjoying it instead of fighting it. Not everything can be explained by logic, so why try? Let us be magical, friend! Whimsical, even!"

Thirteen has finished his latest academic paper.
Mauric is preparing his combat cooking skills for the upcoming event.
Klei is trying to move some stolen trinkets.
Felix approaches him, bringing what seems to be a shrine on his back. "Hello, friend. I have something that might help you prepare. I want you at your best, so I thought you might want to learn how those of us without your level of talent do it."

He places it down and arranges the candles. "It's a shrine to the Gourmet Gods. But the gods themselves aren't much to worry about. A blessing or two is nice, but these are fairly weak and gentle divines. What these shrines are really for is meditation. Have you ever established the Boon of Gourmet Honor on yourself?"

“Uh, no. I was raised Orthodox. I never knew this was a thing. But I’m almost certainly not from the same world as you, so I don’t think I even could have if I’d known.”

Felix nods. "Don't worry, Gourmet Honor isn't a religious thing. It's just an enhanced sense of awareness and appreciation granted by awakening certain pathways in your mind. Some people use drugs, but I've found that meditation is better if you want to live longer."

"Honkachu. It's a little volcanic island somewhere down south. Very, very far south. We use geothermal magic just to survive, but we've learned to thrive through cooperation and acceptance. Unfortunately, we've stagnated over the past couple hundred years. A perfect world doesn't need to be improved, right? Wrong. The world outside is constantly coming up with new ways to hurt everything, and Honkachu keeps getting caught in the crossfire. We don't understand war. It's never been part of our culture. We don't even have violent sports."

So spend your hours on
What you think I've done wrong
I know I'm in your mind
I've been here way too long
I want to spend my life
With those who've done me right
Your heart is frozen over
I'm a four-leaf clover
