The hand doesn’t seem to bleed, the wounds closing soon after being made, though the hand doesn’t return to life after being extinguished and then frozen by the blade “It would’ve likely escaped and become much more dangerous were it not taken out quickly. Interesting indeed.”
"And that was only two drops of blood that did that... I wonder..." She cuts off a small piece of skin from the monstrous hand, placing it in the jar of blood with the anti-coagulant, hand lowered near her sword in case this ends badly.
It slowly loses the chill, but once it does, it rapidly grows back to the hand it once was, and then to the hand it grew from, before its growth stops suddenly, becoming much more slow, fur and claws expanding out of bone that wasn’t there before, though not seemingly alive this time.
"Abnormal hair and claw growth... somewhat similar to the beasts I've heard you describe." She mutters, documenting all of this. "And it didn't take much blood at all for us to get there with this one... though, perhaps a full, still-living organism needs more than that to end up as something like this."
“It usually takes an entire vial to make the process incredibly quick on the average person, but with some hunters, they are left entirely unaffected by the Blood, like one of the mightiest of hunters, the one who lived beyond death, Maria had consumed the blood, and yet she was free from turning into a beast, and was actually able to manipulate it freely.” He leans against her, holding one of his ears for a moment.
She stands straight, bristling from the unexpected compliment, a bit of her blush showing, “O-oh… I’m C-Camilla.” Her skin showing just the smallest bit, greenish blue.
His eyes widen, arms dropping to his sides “Love?” He just, walks back to the kitchen, thinking about it, muttering to himself.
He signs “They don’t hurt anymore, just don’t want most people to worry about them. They’re how I survived so long.” He puts his hand on the counter, turning a bit of the wood to granite with alchemy, the runes glowing on the back of his hands.

"Why are some of the hunters unaffected? Is there some sort of treatment done beforehand that reduces its power over them?" She asks, leaning a bit against him as well. "Maybe we could ask Maria for aid with our research at some point. She might know something about what lets her control the blood without consequence."

“We would be able to… if she wasn’t now dead, and this death a lasting one. Though I do believe it is more a matter of willpower rather than chemical balance of some kind. The Old Blood is the ultimate cure when harness correctly, all beasts are free of disease, they are simply lost in body and mind.” He rubs his chin, his ear bleeding the slightest bit onto the ground.

"Nice to meet you. Sorry I got in the way for your walk." he says, chuckling quietly
"yes?" she asks, not realizing how he's saying it
Aokiji taps the granite with a claw, awestruck. "That's so cool.." he takes a drink of his sake.
She shakes her head a bit, sitting down on the ground next to them, “It’s okay… I wasn’t headed anywhere.”
He shakes his head, placing their meal in front of them, a three course meal for each head to enjoy.
It’s as real as any granite they could find, drinking his own drink and giving a silent chuckle, pulling his hands back up.

"Well, if that's the case, it's a good thing- it being a matter of willpower and discipline could mean it can be learned, and then..." She notices the blood trickling from his ear, her smile dropping. "Henry, you're bleeding. Are you alright?"

He looks over to her, and then over his own body, not realizing that it’s coming from his ear “What do you mean, dear? The hand wasn’t able to get me I don’t think, did it?” He looks at her faded smile, his own smile fading, feeling at his bleeding ear.

"Well, still. I feel bad for scarin' ya."
Each smooch him gingerly, Hinven more short with him as flame arms appear to aid in consumption
"That's amazing.. Truly a wonder of magic. My magic is... not nearly as creative."
“You aren’t too… scary… I’m just nervous I guess. You’re kind of… soothing actually.”
He takes the smooches, his smile coming back a bit as he sits down on the couch, muttering the word ‘love’ back to himself over and over, thinking.
He tilts his head, obviously wondering what they mean by ‘creative’ as he begins to wrap his hands back up.
A factory has somehow set up on the borders of the Lord Rest. It's not dingy like one would expect but beautiful, pristine, and entirely made of black metal. A massive neon sign on the front of the building spells in pink glowing letters 'BETTER BODY COMPANY'. The area around it smells like roses, lilac, orange, and vanilla. The doors seem wide open, letting anyone inside who may want to visit.

"What's happening? It's not the... it's not the old blood, is it?" She asks, sounding worried and not entirely sure what to do in this situation- she's far more used to stitching together monsters than stitching up wounds.
