"I don't. Everyone seems... awful. Everywhere. They act nice, but if they saw me bleeding in a ditch they would walk past. Most of the 'best' ones would just walk faster or tell someone else to help."
'Well yeah, people are people. I try not to be like people, but then again, they're not all bad. I refuse to believe that. And certainly not irredeemable'
"...Maybe. Maybe you're right. But it's scary. So many of them, and all of them are afraid and angry and confused. No one has everything put together. No one is willing to help each other, either. They just want to sit at home and do nothing while the world burns down around them."

'Ya right there. But if we give up on them, then that's no different to sitting at home on our own butts. Yeah, some people suck, and maybe it's our job to be better than that. And maybe make it not look so impossible to be half-decent these days'
He reaches out his arms and telekinetically pulls Angel into a hug, sobbing bitterly into his shoulder. There are several gunshots and screaming, but no one seems to hear them, or they don't care enough to even flinch. Stigmata, however, winces with every noise. Angel can see echoes of hundreds of murders and abuses and horrors of all sorts being committed here, preserved in time from up to hundreds of years past.
Porter looks up at Thorne. "How is she?"
Angel closes their eyes, taking it in. "Not so different from what I hear.." he mumurs and gently holds them. He picks them up and unfolds his wings, shrouding them from the eye of those who watch. He walks out of town, straight to a simple maple tree that is nearly as tall as someone like Rag or Samaritan. He scales it, somehow still holding on to them as he climbs. When he reaches the top, before them both is a wrap around tree house. He opens the door as not to disturb Stigmata and walks inside. The inside is actually very well furnished, with a cozy little living room connected to a kitchen. The inside seems warped in a way, much bigger on the inside than the outside.
Thorne looks up from his book on the practice's of morticians, closing it and setting it aside "Not well, I am afraid. If she is the suspect to the killing then we are looking at a long sentence at the Outpost which is where the Thane Foundation keeps those deemed mentally unwell or dangerous." He offered, tapping his fingers against the desk.
Stigmata does not resist in the slightest. He seems... broken. Not used to this level of stimulation, to feeling this kind of pain. He seems to get calmer the farther they get from the town. He lays his head against Angel's shoulder.
He sets his pen down. "If she's just a suspect? Surely you misspoke somewhere."

She hears whirring of Xavier's arm as it grabs her shoulder gently. "You look ravishing, dear."
She checks a few other hourglasses, frowning. "Oh, she's going to die soon."
He moves over to sit next to him, though making sure not to wake them up.
Shivers run down her spine at the simple sound of their voice, her neck twisting to look at them, "Oh, my beloved. I would have to say the same for you."
He looks over to them as he wraps a wound that seems to be leaking pure darkness "Who is she?"

"Wonderful to see you, dear." he comes around the side of the chair and sits in her lap
"This one.. Not Saphuno.. No, this is.. Reese."
He puts a soft but cold hand to the side of their face, muttering some loving words.
Her head twists back into place as her arms wrap around Xavier, leaning against them a bit, "You as well. Xavier? Have you considered getting married?"
He leans against the table, looking at the hourglasses "Tell me, does the hourglass represent their current lifespan or their total lifespan?"

Angel sets them on the couch facing a fireplace. He walks over to the kitchen and retrieves a kettle, bring it to the fireplace and hanging it on a hook. They sit down beside them and take their hands in their taloned ones "Take some deep breaths for me please."
"She is one of our top suspects actually. No alibi, same pattern to her cuts of meat as the body." He lists off.

He stirs a bit, his tongue sticking out. His ears twitch
"Constantly, though I don't know how i'd be my own husband. I know why though. Oh, but you meant to you. Yes, why?"
"This portion." he shows him the hourglass of a young childs. the part with more sand in it has blue sand. "is how much they've got left to live. The red is how much has passed."
He rubs the back of their ears, soft enough to hold fully not wake them up, wondering what they are dreaming about.
"I know you're intelligent enough to find a way." She says with a soft laugh, "I just have been recently, and the thought only grows in my mind the more time I spend with you, I do think both Ambrosia and I want to marry you soon."
He nods, pulling back as he continues to wrap the wound, though the flow never seems to stop "Strange, what if someone were to be brought back to life? Like I was?"
