He finishes his lobster and slowly drains his drink, putting it to his agape maw, the glass becoming empty and covered in that goo, “Dear, may I see what is behind your mask?”
He shakes his head, “My help isn’t done yet, I still need to take you to that observatory. I’ll get you there in back in time for bed, promise.” He says with a smile, getting out of his chair, “You should rest, you were tired, you probably still are tired.”
*Sorry about the delay*
"I don't know if there is anything behind the mask really. I never tried removing it... but yes, you may." She places two hands on her mask, slowly pulling it off with a sound of what sounds like tearing flesh. When the mask is removed, the inside of it is completely stained with inky ichor, and it reveals her true 'face'. A shifting mass of inky darkness engulfed in a cloud of shadowy miasma, inside of which six tiny green motes of light in a familiar configuration can faintly be seen.
"Yeah, I am. Good idea." She sits back on the bed. "Once I'm awake enough to actually go exploring, we'll go to the observatory and get our answers."
*That's alright- take your time! Here ya go!*
He gets as close as he can, attempting to analyze the face, not in a judging way, purely curious about what it represents, thinking about KK as a whole, everything he knows about her as he does, his face reflecively almost identical reflecting theirs, “Hmm.”
“Yeah, and that’ll probably be tomorrow. That was fun, talking to a star protector, I didn’t know your mom was so famous.” He laughs.
“Like… as friends?” Her hopes are rising just a little.
“Of course ya do, why’re ya out here, ta think?”
He laughs, sneaking a smooch and continuing to rub their back.
"Yeah, and.. maybe more?"
"I had planned to drown, but I guess I am more boyant that I thought."
She kisses him back before yawning
She turns that bluish blush, “A-are you sure?”
She begins making the water move towards the shore, “That’s what I thought, this is why.”
“You should rest, I’ll handle all the chores and everything.”
He nods, flushing
"I.. I am sorry, for everything.. for turning you down, for.. telling you my regrets, for.. wanting to die."
"Fine.."
She stops, sitting down next to their face.
“Ya should be sorry, an’ now we’re gonna go back ta the orphanage, yer gonna think ‘bout what ya did, an’ then, we’ll talk.”
He kisses her one more time before getting out of bed.
"....hi."
"No."
She watches him, laid on her side and legs crossed at the ankles.
She slowly leans in, and gives him a smooch, like she did when they first met.
“You don’t get a say, you tried to drown yourself.” She picks them up.
He saunters out of the room, closing the door behind him with a smile.
he smiles and kisses back shyly
"I could be your grandfather, I will not stand for this! I am a hundred and nine, and I get to say when I die." he goes stiff, hard to grab
She giggles and smiles, closing her eyes to take a nap.
She grabs the sides of their face, pulling them in for a more fully kiss, repressed emotions coming back up as she kisses them.
She jumps into the water, wrapping her arms around them, using her legs to swim, “I ain’t gonna let ya be hard headed ‘bout this, I ain’t care what ya think.”

The tiny 'eyes' within the miasma watch him as well- aside from the eyes, it's hard to discern any details at all in the darkness, assuming there is anything else there at all. "I've never seen what my face looks like under the mask..." She mutters, watching as his face reflexively shifts to match her own. "...Is that what I look like?"
She laughs as well. "Yeah, that was awesome. I honestly didn't know if it would work, of if I'd be strong enough to do that." She responds.

He pulls back out of the miasma, leaning back with his smile, “How devastatingly interesting, I am going to have to do more research at a later date, and well, ironic what that requires considering we are both no longer mortal.” He laughs to himself.
“I should probably go, you have to rest and so do I, and you probably don’t want me to stay, so I’ll be going, if that’s cool with you.”
She laughs a bit as well, deciding to put her mask back on, the Artefact fitting back onto her face and almost fusing partway into the miasma. "Yes, it is rather ironic. We've all the time in the world to figure everything out." She takes another sip of her drink.
"...I mean, you can stay here for a little while if you want to." She responds. "If that's cool with you, of course."

She slowly leans in, and gives him a smooch, like she did when they first met.
“You don’t get a say, you tried to drown yourself.” She picks them up.
He saunters out of the room, closing the door behind him with a smile.

Say goodbye to who I was
I ain't never been away so long
Don't look back, them days are gone
Follow me into the endless night

He gets as close as he can, attempting to analyze the face, not in a judging way, purely curious about what it represents, thinking about KK as a whole, everything he knows about her as he does, his face reflecively almost identical reflecting theirs, “Hmm.”
“Yeah, and that’ll probably be tomorrow. That was fun, talking to a star protector, I didn’t know your mom was so famous.” He laughs.
he smiles and kisses back shyly
"I could be your grandfather, I will not stand for this! I am a hundred and nine, and I get to say when I die." he goes stiff, hard to grab
She giggles and smiles, closing her eyes to take a nap.

She grabs the sides of their face, pulling them in for a more fully kiss, repressed emotions coming back up as she kisses them.
She jumps into the water, wrapping her arms around them, using her legs to swim, “I ain’t gonna let ya be hard headed ‘bout this, I ain’t care what ya think.”
(Good place to end? Or continue later?)

He reluctantly kisses back, getting a bit more into it.

“Yes, your skin is like my own, featureless except for one key detail, for me my mouth, for you your eyes. It’s… well it’s you, and that’s beautiful.” He puts his forehead to hers, “I wonder why we were changed to be this way, what it may mean, that perfection is featureless?”
“I knew you’d be strong enough, you’re one of the strongest people I know, and I know Victor!” He leans back in his chair, smiling as much as a bird can.
After a while, she separates from them, leans back, “I… wanted to do that for a long time… sorry.” She looks down, blushing.
“Cause yer my friend, an’ ya coulda been my husband. Now let’s get back.” She takes them out of the water.

*Cut for Salem.*
She puts her hands on their face, “Don’t say that, okay?”
She doesn’t break, a clawed hand grabbing them by the ear “Stop fightin’. Stop givin’ up.”
She looks down at them, kneeling “Oh, it’s ya!”
"I'm being honest, Camilla. I'm just a friendly guy, I have no idea what draws you to me."
"I.. I'm ashamed! I-I-I-I've never had a regret before, and now... I have one and it's one of the worst ones anybody could make.. I'm a warrior, I'm not supposed to regret choices."
Dexter coos, smiling and waving like a child does.

There isn't really a forehead there- his head just passes through the space where it should be, looking deeper into the abyss. The inky darkness is similar to the one wreathed around his skeleton, though rather than liquid, it's more of a miasma. "I don't quite understand it either." She starts- it almost sounds like her voice is coming from all around him at once. "I'm sure we'll figure it out, though. We have eternity, after all."

“That doesn’t matter, whatever your appeal is, it drew me in, and I’m still stuck.”
“Yer allowed ta have regrets, everyone has regrets, I would’ve spent all the time I had with Annabelle if I could go back, but I can’t, so I regret. Ya never know what’ll happen.”
She leans down to smile at them, waving back, “Where’s River?”
"Well, thank you."
"I.. I cant take it."
"Unfortunately, never far." he says with a sigh as he coalesces.

She gives him one more kiss, before hugging their face, “So… are we dating now?”
“Yer gonna have ta, cause I ain’t gonna let ya die until yer happy.”
She looks over to them and smiles, “Good ta see ya River, I was hopin’ I’d say ya.”
"I.. that's a little quick, huh?... I dont know yet.."
"Fine, i'm happy, fan-[GP]-splentastic."
"A pleasure, I suppose. Dexter, why have you come out this far?.."

She nods, a little sad, but understanding, “Yeah… I’m just… excited I suppose.”
She slaps him, “Oh shut it.” She continues walking them back to the orphanage.
“What do ya mean, ya suppose?” She picks up Dexter, holding them in her arms.
