Gleipnir from Norse mythology, it’s the rope that binds Fenris and prevents ragnarok.
also in one of the books Rick Riordan wrote, theres a joke about Gleipnir, which is made from stuff like the sound of a cat’s footsteps and the breath of a fish. Basically there was a dwarf who was asked to make a replacement rope for Gleipnir, and he made it out of a politician’s sincerity, internet without lag, and other fun things.

I strongly suspect this line was added because Rick Riordan wanted to complain about various things in life

I love that line so much
i Love the idea that the most powerful chain in existence is woven with deep fried food.
on your wedding night you are supposed to leave out a piece of your wedding cake as a offering to the bats and if the cake is gone in the morning that means they have accepted the offering and have blessed said marriage but if it is still there it means they have rejected your offering and thus your marriage has been cursed

if i say something inflammatory the intention is not to trigger an emotional response and the fact that it does so is purely accidental and I sincerely apologise if it does

I like finding the obscure stuff that isn't as well known. Stuff like old Nordic sagas, Slavic, Filipino, Japanese, etc. folklore, tall tales, fairy tales, and all that jazz. I also like the more modern stuff like urban legends, UFO sightings, and cryptozoology.

Like the Volsunga Saga (the story of Sigurd and Brynhild)? Or is that pretty well known?

Hello
Hello, are you interested in mythology and folklore?
Yes i am.
Fun fact(My dad once asked if i knew the story of the Trojan war he didn't realize i'd go into a thirty minute rant.)
Nice. What type of stories do you like the most?
I just enjoy the subject in general more specific Greek, Roman, Norse, and a little Egyptian.
What about you
