'Scavenger, yes, were-rat, no. I'm just a regular half-elf. But it's a common misconception. Wiry, skinny, talk to rats, look like I belong down here, yeah, most people think I'm a wererat. But nah.'

 "I see. And the rats. They understand you?"

'Yeah. They understand me better than any humanoid. I like to think that I'm like them in some ways- smart, resourceful, able to thrive in pretty much any environment. But I know not to flatter myself by comparing myself to a rat. What're you here in this town for?'

 Snow thinks for a moment, "Test. Items are given points. Get certain points pass test. Get enough points, better rank when pass."

'You trying to join some sort of guild then?'

 "Depends which branch you refer to. Mainly is thieves' guild."

Sterling has gone to the surface to let Flint and Snow talk. He uses Demiplane to enter his own private mansion.

'A thieves' guild? That sort of explains it. I'm no expert on theft myself, but I'm sure you could find some decent objects scavenging down here. I'd show ya some of the good spots, if ya want?'

 Snow looks insulted, "Scavenging isn't the way to steal. Must take items from people. Picking it up off the ground isn't a fair way."

'Not fair? How? As a scavenger, I can't say I agree. Not that I wanna start a fight of course. You seem like a decent guy, and I'm aware you could probably snap my skinny little body in two. Doesn't take much'

 "Scavenging is not stealing. A scavenger takes what was lost. A thief makes things lost." then rolls their eyes, "You're scared of a child. To tell you my opinions would mean stopping with the short concise words, but I feel like that would be a waste of breath."

'Ya got a fair point. And it's not like I've never stolen before. Some thieves' guild lived in one of the sewer systems I was staying in, man did I empty their storehouses! I mean, only a bit at a time, so they didn't know what was going on or thought it was rats. But I wouldn't really call myself a thief. Not like my friend Dexen...'

"Dexen? You made things lost. That is theft. You are thief."

'I guess so. Is that a good thing in your books?'

"You gained respect."

'Respect? That's gotta be a good thing. Don't get it too often. I mean, come on, a thieves guild hiding out in a sewer should really check the tiniest, foulest tunnels, make sure that nobody ain't living in there, behind their walls, leeching their food and their stuff off them!'
