*I'm back! I'm also working on a small story about Kelipso if anyone wants to read it so far!*
(i'd like to read it)
Kelipso could remember his childhood. He was only 12 at the time, the world seemed so big at that age. He could remember how his mother would hold his hand through the markets of their mountain town of Ghetts. Her big hand against his small one as the scent of earthly vegetables and baked bread wafted through stalls where vendors sold what they had to those who were willing to buy. Occasionally his mother would buy a baked pastry with fruit topping on it for him. He could remember the fruit's color…. A ruby red color. Those memories, along with his town shattered when he was 20. The black dragon army marched into his town, burned, and pillaged. He could remember the stains on the doors and walls of homes. The stains were the same color as the cherry fruit topping on the baked goods his mother had bought so long ago. The color of blood. Kelipso was lucky to survive the attack. He had hidden in a crawlspace in the basement of his family's home. He watched as his parents, his mother and father, got their necks slit by the dragonborns that deemed them nothing more than another victory under their belt. That was a long time ago. -------------------------------------------------- Kelipso watched as a herd of white goats made their way up the mountain. The mist slowly formed shrouded veils around the mountain tops as the goats disappeared into it. They would be back for their feeding time soon. He had been the guardian of this hidden valley for a while now. He had found it while traveling in search of a few herbs he needed to complete in his journal. He had made a home here, fed the animals that came to his door, and tended to the land as if it meant more than jewels or gold. He lived here and he would die here. A loud bark drew his attention from staring at the goats. His winter wolf companion, Gordon, barked at Alpine, a small orange tabby cat. The tabby gave the wolf a baleful glance before jumping up on a fence post to stare down at the brute. Gordon barked as if it was trying to take over his homeland and this bark was all he had to defend it. Kelipso laughed and walked over. He reached out a hand and set his fingertips on the post beside Alpine. The tabby looked at Kelipso for a moment before using his arm as a bridge and promptly curled around his shoulder and let out a content meow. Gordon snorted in disapproval as suddenly his ears perked up to a noise that formed from beyond the mist that encircled the small cabin and vast fields of the valley. Kelipso looked up to see people on well-bred horses made their way down the slopes. The thought of others in his valley made Kelipso bristle under his wool poncho. He flicked a hand in the air as suddenly, in his grip, a wooden birch staff appeared as if summoned from the air itself. He gripped the smooth wooden shaft and began to walk towards the people who had tread upon his land. As he got closer, he could see them clearly. Two Half-Elves, one much more well-dressed than the other, and a human. They appeared weary and their body language suggested a quiet combatance with each other. Kelipso knew how that felt, as his years as an adventurer had shown him that when people spend years by each other's side, it can form both everlasting friendships or unbreakable hate. The human's eyes lit up as he spotted Kelipso. "Howdy!" he yelled and waved a gauntlet-covered hand. Kelipso stood still as they approached him. He could already tell two things. One, they were inexperienced adventurers due to their weapons being fresh with little damage and their horses looking rather weary from being pushed too far. Secondly, they consisted of an archer, a knight, and a wizard. One of the Half-Elves had a quiver of arrows hanging from his shoulder while the more fine-dress Half-Elf wore plated armors made of fresh steel. The human wore thick robes made of a deep blue color hemmed with silver, he carried a crystal staff in one hand. Kelipso narrowed his eyes "Who are you?" he asked. "I am Garret. And these are my traveling companions, Lissa, and Maddox." Garret said with a grin. Kelipso nodded "Your horses need food and rest. I can tell by looking that you have pushed them far," he said and gently lifted a black and white speckled horse's head. It was so tired that it let him without hesitation. "I suppose…" Garret said "May we stay with you for the night? We need only a room and then tomorrow morning we will be on our way?" he asked. Kelipso thought for a moment. "Fine," he said and turned away and began leading them down the valley to his cabin "You may stay in the sheep house for the night." "Thank you, kindly sire," Lissa, the archer, said. "I am no sire." Kelipso stated instantly "Get that through your head" ------------------------------------------------- After settling the adventurers in, and providing them food, water, blankets, and other necessities, Kelipso noticed the sky was getting darker. He knew night-time was approaching but he was surprised it was approaching this fast. He rubbed his fingers over the tips of his horns that curled around behind his ear like rams would. This was something he did unconsciously when he was thinking or stressed and, right now he was both. He peeked into the sheep barn. The adventurers were sitting and talking amongst themselves, eating rations, and tending to the horses who took up a good part of the shed. The sheep bleated in fear to the strangers who had invaded their home. Kelipso felt like there was nothing to be afraid of but his years of hunting monsters and falling into near-death traps had made him always question whether something was truly okay. He sighed and went into his cabin, locking the door behind him. Gordon noisily ate raw meat from his bowl in the kitchen while Alpine slept in front of the fireplace in the living room. "Maybe I'm just jittery," Kelipso said to himself out loud. Gordon looked up from his food and tilted his head as if agreeing with Kelipso. Kelipso nodded his head as if to assure himself before turning in for the night. He pulled his coarse woven wool blankets over his body and stared out the window before lying his head on his pillow and falling into sleep. ---------------------------------------------- A scream pierced the silent night. Kelipso shot up in bed, grabbed his dagger, and ran outside. Thoughts ran as fast as him as he kicked open the sheepshed. On the floor were the three adventurers, paler than snow. There was no sign of blood, but it was more than easy to tell that they had passed on. Kelipso huffed as he backed out of the sheep shed quickly. He was trying to come to terms when he backed into something. He turned around and there in front of him was a figure draped in thick black cloth that was stained with an unknown substance. Its hooded head bent down to meet Kelipso's gaze. Its eyes were gone with nothing in its eye sockets but darkness. Its skin was dry and decaying. Its lips parted in a smile, unveiling its sharp, needle-like teeth. One hand emerged from underneath the cloth and raised a bony, many-jointed finger to its paper-thin lips. "Shhhh," it said then disappeared in a puff of black mist that seemed to wrap around Kelipso and disappear into the beyond. Kelipso fell to his knees, panic now setting in. He was breathing fast as his whole body shook. He hadn't felt this way in a while. The last time he had felt this way his boyfriend, Jason, had stabbed in while in a PTSD trance. He stood up after gathering his thoughts and ran to his cabin. He needed to find that thing, after all, it was his duty so many years ago to banish evil from harming anyone. He had slipped today, and someone had people had paid the price with their lives. He wouldn't let that thing take any more. He grabbed his staff and an ornate bow and arrow that he had been gifted by a friend, and a quiver of arrows. He packed only what he needed and nothing more. He closed the door behind him and locked up his cabin. He nodded at Gordon who ruffled his fur as his eyes glowed slightly. The winter wolf suddenly grew bigger. Kelipso saddled Gordon as he were to do to a horse and patted his companion's back. "Old friend… we are off to work again," Kelipso said and smiled wearily. Gordon howled as his paws hit the ground, racing fast and sure towards the edge of the mountains and over into the world beyond.
(Chapter Two) The night wore on till dawn peeked its head over the horizon. Soon the sun woke up along with the world. Kelipso watched as animals and birds of all kinds woke and began doing what their instincts led them to do. Gordon whined a bit as they reached a small town. Its houses were ordinary made for living and not for show. The roads were made of dirt that kicked up dust when horses, carriages, or anything else traveled through them. Stalls were set up outside, and vendors just opening and setting up their wares for sale. Kelipso patted his companion's side as he hopped off. Gordon shrunk back down to the size of a medium dog so as not to scare anyone. Kelipso looked around for a moment, trying to see if there was anything worth investigating. He spotted a tavern and sighed, walking inside past the salon-style doors. Gordon whined in protest of not being able to go inside with his friend. The inside was rather drab. Simple tables, simple chairs, a bar, a fireplace that held logs but was unlit. A man stood behind the bar, cleaning glasses. Kelipso walked up and sat at the bar. Kelipso tapped his hand on the bar counter "Hello there." He chirped. The man looked up. His eyes were a jade-green color, his hair was well-kept and white-blonde in color. He seemed to have a permanent grimace on his face. "Hello yourself," the man said. "Ok then…" Kelipso said to himself before speaking again "I was wondering if you could help me. I'm looking for someone." "What do they look like?" the man asked and raised an eyebrow. He set down his clean glass and leaned forward. "They are about as big as you and wearing all black. Their clothes are tattered like a cloak and their skin is dead. No eyes either." He said, trying to describe all that he had seen. The man's eyebrows shot up "Czalor?" he asked suddenly. It was Kelipso's turn to raise an eyebrow. "As stupid as it sounds, I never got a name," he said. "You got to meet Czalor… He's a Lich that rules over anywhere he wants to." The man said and drummed his fingers on the counter "If you got visited by him… how are you not dead?" "He killed a few travelers that were staying the night so they could rest," Kelipso said. "Then ye had bad luck visited upon ya," the man said and leaned himself against the shelves. He folded his arms and thought for a moment before speaking again "He has killed many here. He killed my wife and my unborn child". "I'm sorry to hear that sir," Kelipso said and bowed his head. "Don't call me sir. I don't need this body to feel older than it is" The man said, "My name is Daniel O'Malley." "Okay, Daniel," Kelipso said and smiled a bit. Daniel nodded his head "Well, it seems like you had a rough go of it. I can't help ya in any way to find him but I'm right sure that the Gale Alliance could help ya. They work to destroy Liches, Vampires, Wizards, and anything they feel could potentially hurt people. They have a post out west. I could take ya there if you would like?" Kelipso smiled brightly "I would love that," he said and stood up "When are you free to take me?" "Right this instant," Daniel said and chuckled. He jumped over the bar and grinned "I have friends in high and low places that can make our journey a bit easier." ----------------------------------------- Kelipso followed Daniel to a small church in the center of town. The inside of the church was beautiful to the eyes. The ceiling was hand-painted with images of celestials and angels, and a large window in the shape of the sun sat towards the front, its yellow stained glass shone brightly as the sunlight poured in. Neat and orderly pews sat in rows, made from birch, and intricately carved with depictions of the sun rising over clouds. A figure wearing sun-yellow robes sat on the first pew, and stared at a book, their head hooded so Kelipso could not see a face. "Oi, Fire-Light," Daniel called out. The figure rose their head and turned to see who had called them. They had ash-colored skin, glowing orange eyes, and bright orange-red hair that flickered like flames. Their kind face settled into a smile as they stood up, setting the book on the pew. "Daniel, how good it is to see you up and moving this morning," Fire-Light said with a voice both soft and gentle. "Mn, I had things to do," he said and rubbed the back of his neck "I need yer help." He said as he gestured to Kelipso who was busy staring in awe at the ceiling paintings. Fire-Light smiled again "Ah. A traveler?" They asked. "More than that," Daniel said, "They had an incident with… Czalor." Fire-Light's eyes rose as they walked over to Kelipso who tried to stand straighter because he felt he should have. Fire-Light put their hands on either side of Kelipso's cheeks and gently patted them. Their eyes turned a filmy white color as if they were in a daze. Kelipso could smell them. Their scent was so strong that it made his nose wrinkle. The smell of smoke. They pulled away as their eyes became their burning ember color again. They shivered once beneath their robes and stared Kelipso straight in the eye. "You have been through a lot, haven't you?" They asked. Kelipso looked down at the floorboards. That was all the answer Fire-Light needed. They walked up to the dais and pulled a book from their robes along with a small golden disk with the engraving of a sun on it. Fire-Light gestured for Kelipso and Daniel to come to them as they cupped the disk in their hands. Their ashy skin seemed to crack and reveal golden veins. The golden liquid filled their cupped palms and drowned the golden disk in pure light. Kelipso watched in amazement. He had seen clerics perform holy rituals before but never like this. Fire-Light walked over to a small bronze basin and gently poured the liquid and the disk into it. They gently picked the disk out of the liquid and held it out to Daniel. "a holy symbol of Pelor. Demons, Devils, and Liches fear the Sun God and his radiance. Use this against them.". Daniel nodded and took it. He stared at it for a moment, it seemed to shine like the sun itself. He wrapped it in black cloth and gently put it in his belt pouch. Kelipso noticed how Fire-Light's hands had already healed somehow, not a single scar left behind. Maybe that was the power they had. Fire-Light turned to Kelipso and smiled again "May Pelor help you my friend" they said and bowed their head. Kelipso bowed back and walked out of the church with Daniel. -------------------------------------- Daniel had found himself a horse for their journey at the local stable. Its hide was a beautiful copper color with white flecks that looked as if snow had fallen upon it. Its mane was like strings of gold, it was soft to the touch. Daniel had said its name was Chili. Kelipso took mental notes of what Daniel was bringing with him. He saw him wrap a belt around his waist with a short sword in its sheath, a few daggers strapped into a thigh sheath, and a backpack. What was in the backpack, Kelipso didn't know. Daniel climbed over the side of the horse and placed his feet in the spurs. "This feels like old times..." he said and chuckled. Kelipso raised an eyebrow "Old times?" he asked. "It's hard to believe but back in the day I was an outlaw." Daniel said with a grin "Well... Technically I was a smuggler but still an outlaw nonetheless.". Kelipso hopped on Gordon and chuckled "Can't say I've ever been in trouble with the law ever." He said with a chuckle. Daniel snapped the reins of his horse. It whinnied and began walking down the road into the forest. Kelipso rode behind him. Gordon let out a grunt, protesting to the thought of him not being in front. The town grew smaller and smaller in the distance until it was completely hidden by trees and nothing more than a speck in the beyond.
(Chapter Three) Gordon let out a shrill whine. He was tired like the rest of them. Kelipso patted their head and hopped off him "I can walk now. I don't want you to be sore from you carrying me" he said. Gordon bowed his head to the ground and shrunk down to his normal size. Daniel sighed "We'll stop up here for the night," he said and slipped off his own horse. Kelipso nodded in agreement before pulling out a few torches from Gordon's saddle bag and stabbing them into the ground in a circle around him and Daniel. Daniel raised an eyebrow in confusion. Kelipso chuckled "I don't know what's out here and I'm not in the mood to die." He spoke. Daniel shrugged "I suppose but what if something finds us due to the big old beacon of light that now shines through the forest?" he asked. "I suppose but I feel better if we were in the light." He said and chuckled nervously. Daniel shrugged again and pulled out his bed roll. "We can take shifts if you would like?" he asked. Kelipso nodded "That would be nice." "I'll take the first shift so you can sleep," Daniel said and smiled. Kelipso smiled back and pulled out his bed roll. As soon as he snuggled into it, despite being on the ground, he was out like a light. ------------------------------------------------ Daniel tapped Kelipso's shoulder. The Tiefling rolled over and blinked, his eyes bleary from sleep. "It's yer turn mate. I got nothing to report while you were dozing" Daniel said and smiled. Kelipso nodded once, still getting his brain together to wake up. He sat up and waved a hand towards Daniel's bed roll "Go sleep now". Daniel chuckled softly "OK then." Kelipso watched as Daniel took off his boots and crawled into his bed roll, falling asleep just as quickly as Kelipso did. They were both tired and it showed. ----------------------------------------- Kelipso listened to the nighttime symphony of crickets as he watched the sky above. Stars poked through the thick clouds like spears of light. As he began to feel himself drift off, he felt like he heard the crickets stop their song. All became quiet. Quickly he sat up and looked around. All he could see for a few miles was the forest shrouded in the shadows of the night. Clouds began rolling in quickly, the stars tried poking through but were soon snuffed from being seen. Kelipso reached for his dagger while looking around for anything that would pop up in his sight. He found nothing but the dirt beneath his hand. He swore he had left his dagger beside him just in case. "Looking for this?" a snarling voice said. Kelipso looked up and, face to face was a drooling werewolf with a dagger between its teeth. Its bristling fur seemed to stand straight up on its back. Kelipso could see his reflection in huge teeth that were sharper than razors. Its glowing red eyes stared down at Kelipso, unblinking. "I suggest you not speak unless you want to wake up your friend so I can tear you both in halves." The werewolf sneered. Kelipso bit his tongue and glanced over at Daniel who was still asleep. As much as he wanted to yell for Daniel to wake up, he knew if he did that both himself and Daniel would be dead before Daniel even opened an eye. He looked back up at the werewolf who seemed to grin a bit. "Good… Now tell me what you are doing in my forest. Your answer could be your ticket out of here without being mauled." Kelipso was about to open his mouth to speak before it shushed him. "Telepathically. I know you beings can do such a thing. Besides, if Meat Bag over there heard you talking, he would wake up, wouldn't he?" Kelipso narrowed his eyes. "I don't have such a thing" he whispered. "Mn. Then whisper like you are doing now." It spoke. Suddenly the moon peeked through the thick clouds, it shined down on the werewolf. The fur seemed to lower itself and sink back into pale skin. The fur on its head turned into long black hair. The red eyes formed into a more humanoid set. The werewolf revealed itself to be a woman in a long black dress. Kelipso choked a bit when she did that. She narrowed her eyes at Kelipso "Keep it in your pants" she hissed. Kelipso stood up, though he was much smaller than her. "My name is Kelipso" he whispered "I come from a valley a way off from here. I have come in search of a Lich named Czalor…" "Czalor?!" She snarled loudly. This caused Daniel to quickly sit up, his eyes still bleary due to his body waking up fast but not his brain. "WHOSETHERE?! WHO ARE YOU?!" he yelled and pulled out a dagger from his jacket that lay next to him. "Shut him up or I will," the woman said. Kelipso turned his head at Daniel "It's ok, she's… friendly" he said. Daniel narrowed his eyes, now finally getting himself together. "She doesn't seem too friendly" "For your information flesh bag my name is Angel" the woman hissed. "Angel? You don't act like one" Daniel raised an eyebrow. Sharp hairs grew from her skin till it covered her fully. Her eyes turned from humanoid pupils into slits against red irises. She let go of a spring-loaded snarl of coiled menace that starts in the back of one throat and finds its way into another. Kelipso stepped between the two, a look of fear betraying any chance of him trying to look cool. "H-hey now, p-please be c-civil" he managed to stutter out. Angel shrunk herself back down into her humanoid form and narrowed her eyes. "You aren't welcome here if yer helping Czalor." "What?! Where did you get that idea?!" Daniel said, his voice laced with anger. "We aren't helping Czalor!" Kelipso piped up "We are trying to find him so we can destroy him!" Angel's eyes widened as a look of surprise painted her face. "You aren't here to help him?" she asked. "Of course not!" Kelipso said. "Mn," she said and leaned forward, sniffing Kelipso. The Tiefling kept completely still, unsure of what in the world was happening "You don't smell evil" she snorted. Kelipso could do nothing but stare up at her in confusion "T-Thanks I suppose?" Angel backed away and looked at the sky "Well... Unfortunately for you lot, I don't know much... Thatcher may though." She grinned, baring sharp teeth lined between her lips. Daniel raised an eyebrow "So we're just gonna follow you elsewhere? Lady. YOU JUST THREATENED US!" Kelipso chuckled nervously "Daniel.. Please calm down.." He said and took a deep breath "I think I would like to meet Thatcher. Especially if he has any idea about Czalor."

(that's really good)

*OKAY- SO- I have this Town realm named River's End. The town is set in a magical forest that shares its space with the Feywild. The town is special because, deep within the forests, there is a portal that can allow anyone to go anywhere. The mayor of the town is a Non-binary Dryad named Kells. They are a formed Green Knight (A Paladin devoted to Nature) who protects the portals but also stops anything from coming out of it that may harm the town.)

--------------------------------------------------
Kelipso watched as a herd of white goats made their way up the mountain.
"Fine," he said and turned away and began leading them down the valley to his cabin "You may stay in the sheep house for the night."
"Thank you, kindly sire," Lissa, the archer, said.
"I am no sire." Kelipso stated instantly "Get that through your head"
-------------------------------------------------
After settling the adventurers in, and providing them food, water, blankets, and other necessities, Kelipso noticed the sky was getting darker.
----------------------------------------------
A scream pierced the silent night.
(Chapter Two)
The night wore on till dawn peeked its head over the horizon.
I'm looking for someone."
"What do they look like?" the man asked and raised an eyebrow.
"You got to meet Czalor… He's a Lich that rules over anywhere he wants to." The man said and drummed his fingers on the counter "If you got visited by him… how are you not dead?"
"He killed a few travelers that were staying the night so they could rest," Kelipso said.
I don't need this body to feel older than it is" The man said, "My name is Daniel O'Malley."
"Okay, Daniel," Kelipso said and smiled a bit.
I could take ya there if you would like?"
Kelipso smiled brightly "I would love that," he said and stood up "When are you free to take me?"
"Right this instant," Daniel said and chuckled. He jumped over the bar and grinned "I have friends in high and low places that can make our journey a bit easier."
-----------------------------------------
Kelipso followed Daniel to a small church in the center of town.
"More than that," Daniel said, "They had an incident with… Czalor."
Fire-Light's eyes rose as they walked over to Kelipso who tried to stand straighter because he felt he should have.
--------------------------------------
Daniel had found himself a horse for their journey at the local stable.
(Chapter Three)
Gordon let out a shrill whine.
Kelipso nodded "That would be nice."
"I'll take the first shift so you can sleep," Daniel said and smiled.
Kelipso smiled back and pulled out his bed roll. As soon as he snuggled into it, despite being on the ground, he was out like a light.
------------------------------------------------
Daniel tapped Kelipso's shoulder.
Daniel chuckled softly "OK then."
Kelipso watched as Daniel took off his boots and crawled into his bed roll, falling asleep just as quickly as Kelipso did. They were both tired and it showed.
-----------------------------------------
Kelipso listened to the nighttime symphony of crickets as he watched the sky above.
Your answer could be your ticket out of here without being mauled."
Kelipso was about to open his mouth to speak before it shushed him. "Telepathically. I know you beings can do such a thing. Besides, if Meat Bag over there heard you talking, he would wake up, wouldn't he?"
Kelipso narrowed his eyes.
I have come in search of a Lich named Czalor…"
"Czalor?!" She snarled loudly.
"She doesn't seem too friendly"
"For your information flesh bag my name is Angel" the woman hissed.
"You aren't welcome here if yer helping Czalor."
"What?! Where did you get that idea?!" Daniel said, his voice laced with anger.
"We aren't helping Czalor!" Kelipso piped up "We are trying to find him so we can destroy him!"
Angel's eyes widened as a look of surprise painted her face. "You aren't here to help him?" she asked.
"Of course not!" Kelipso said.
"Mn," she said and leaned forward, sniffing Kelipso. The Tiefling kept completely still, unsure of what in the world was happening "You don't smell evil" she snorted.
Kelipso could do nothing but stare up at her in confusion "T-Thanks I suppose?"
Angel backed away and looked at the sky "Well... Unfortunately for you lot, I don't know much... Thatcher may though." She grinned, baring sharp teeth lined between her lips.
Daniel raised an eyebrow "So we're just gonna follow you elsewhere? Lady. YOU JUST THREATENED US!"
Kelipso chuckled nervously "Daniel.. Please calm down.." He said and took a deep breath "I think I would like to meet Thatcher. Especially if he has any idea about Czalor."

So spend your hours on
What you think I've done wrong
I know I'm in your mind
I've been here way too long
I want to spend my life
With those who've done me right
Your heart is frozen over
I'm a four-leaf clover

*OKAY- SO- I have this Town realm named River's End. The town is set in a magical forest that shares its space with the Feywild. The town is special because, deep within the forests, there is a portal that can allow anyone to go anywhere. The mayor of the town is a Non-binary Dryad named Kells. They are a formed Green Knight (A Paladin devoted to Nature) who protects the portals but also stops anything from coming out of it that may harm the town.)
