News never moves quickly I this world, but with the invention of magical gems capable of storing a recording of an event in a type of hologram using illusion magic, it's possible for people to show entire news recordings to help spread information. Owlin and arrakokra were some of the first to capitalize on this to provide a literal birds eye view of events. Of course, this is what lead to the use of these crystals, connected to recording gems like a sending stone, being used to broadcast important news.

Whatever you were doing in the town, whether good or bad, the flickering of one of these news alerts starting up nearby draws your attention. A popular broadcast, the pair of a tabaxi and their shifter co-host light up the 'screen'. They greet the viewers with their typical warm welcome, though the tone seems a lot dimmer than usual. "As some of you may know, the city of Cerem has rapidly grown in the past 5 years, expanding to become a hub of trade and technological development." The screen swiftly flashes to a large city, massive multi level buildings forming around the centerpiece of a large power grid, before flashing back to the hosts, "Their most recent development, a new clear energy grid allowed their arcane and electrical properties to skyrocket." The tabaxi host says, before the shifter chimes in, "And some may have used their advancements in weaponry, armor, and even cosmetic items." They say in a bright tone before the tabaxi takes back over, "However, recently a catastrophic event has occurred jn their energy district. Our head recorder happened to be in the city when the alarms first started sounding, and was able to take record of the event." They say, giving a nod to someone behind the recorder crystal, the screen shifting to a in person recording, the sound of a blaring alarm ringing around the recording owlin. As people flee away from the 'clear' energy plant, the recorder takes to the sky, moving above the rooftops as a crackling static audibly fills the air. Swooping up near cloud level, an almost cracking noise rings out as the ground shakes and buckles. The screen then suddenly flashes a blinding white, as a thundering boom starts to play before the audio snaps out, though from the way the owlin suddenly tumbles through the air as the white flash goes away before stabilizing, whatever Shockwave was produced was sudden and rough. Turning back to look behind them, the owlin captures the view of what remains of the power plant. A large semicircle of the building and ground is entirely gone, cut out of the earth as if by divine power. A siren blades still in the background as a sweeping blackout runs through the area immediatly around the ruinous plant. The screen then cuts back to the hosts of the news show, "As you can see, the clear energy plant was destroyed by some sort of blast. We have the now head scientist here to give a statement on the event" the tabaxj says, with what looks like a nervous smile as the screen changes once again to an elf in a lab coat. She speaks after a moment, "Thank you. As seen, a failure in the plants coolant resulted in a meltdown that ruptured the arcane shielding around the core. Thousands were lost in the initial explosion, and with the cities main powersource destroyed and unrepairable in the foreseeable future hundreds of citizens were forced out of their houses due to a lack of electricity and lingering effects from the arcane energies seeping into the environment." She says matter of factly, adjusting the pair of glasses resting on the bridge of her nose, "We at the clear energy plant would like to say that this was just a minor setback, and a temporary lesser core will be built to provide energy for those in the city, and the trade of the city will not be disrupted." She smiles, before the screen finally changes back to the shifter and tabaxi, "You heard it here first folks. While the new clear energy plant was damaged, the city officials will handle the situation and continue to provide the things we love from the city of Cerem. This broadcast is also sponsored by-"

The broadcast transitions into an add for a new cosmetic from the city, before swiftly shutting off, leaving those watching, including you, with their own thoughts.

 *That was so cool actually, I loved it. Kinda sad, for all the people, but very cool nevertheless. also, I love how it was a catastrophic explosion that was very bad for the people, but they just called it a 'minor setback'. Very business like, covering it up a bit. Overall, 10/10*
