"Automatons are carving inverted faerie runes into every cold iron bullet. Not even magic will save her from this. Soul traps, mechanical dragons, custom-made hellfire engines, golems... I have a lot of cold iron lying around. And of course, I managed to snag a couple artifacts, like a ring that makes me immune to the wish spell. It has its downsides, but It's better than the alternative."
"She already knows that I am helping you as well. I can offer up a few Hags who hate her as well as well as a some others" She said with a smile.
He smiles back. This seems to be the first time he's been happy in a long time. "That would be amazing. By Vecna, we're gonna have some fun. Hear that, Tatiana? I'm going to enjoy every second of peeling you apart. I'm going to wear you as a cloak when I'm done. Your soul trapped inside... wouldn't that be nice? Your final moments embroidered on your flesh."
She smiles and reaches over "Do you have eyes behind that hair?" she asks, her tone playful.
"No, not really." His eyes are pitch black and sunken. Faint yellow irises can be seen. "When your soul isn't in your body, it does weird things. Had to put in a lot of machinery to keep myself alive. And don't think of trying to take it," he says, suddenly addressing Tatiana again, "it's down in a vault in Nessus, and it can't pass hands without my consent."
"Of course not. I understand why you would subject yourself to their rule, but we weren't created by them. These planes were meant for everyone, not just the ones who claim dominion over them."
"That... fair actually. I've heard people who say they created the planes, do you think that's true? And if so, why shouldn't they rule?" She's avidly noting this all down.
"It really depends on the deity. We're willing to cohabitate with the actual creators of the planes, but others... we don't swear fealty to any gods, especially if we can live without them."
"Ah, that makes sense." She starts on a new page, she must be exaggerating somehow, as she's wrote like twice as much as has been said. "Why, um, are you here now?" She asks, still looking at her notepad.
"My pilgrimage was attacked. Me and my mother are the only ones left. I set up some wards to keep that psycho from just blowing this whole place up with holy magic or something."
"That's... wow. Attacked?"

(Introducing a character I meant to use back in October but life got complicated)
Strange things have been happening recently ever since the harvest festival. The townsfolk have been on edge and several men seem to have been conducting some shady business. A farmer has reported that his horses have had trouble giving birth, a skeleton has been seen dancing along the hills and highways, a farmer’s scarecrow has disappeared, and a butcher shop has been robbed of all its sausages multiple times. An odd tree spirit has shown up to warn of the arrival of a strange being. Recently, an unconscious police officer has been found laying sprawled in a gutter. He seems to have suffered some serious injuries and is now being held in the hospital.
It is late at night, the moon is full and bathes the fields and forest with cold light. The wind creeps through the branches and fields chilling the bones of all who have no home or hearth to warm them. On the outskirts of town a group of dark figures have built a bonfire on a hill. A smaller cluster of men are standing beneath a craggely old dead tree. The sound of shovels cutting into cold earth and scraping away frozen dirt can be heard coming from the group.
Yuri watches from afar, her green eyes turning into pitch black orbs as she watches.
You can hear then men speak in voices hushed in the manner of those who know they are doing something forbidden.
"Are ya sure this is the right spot?" says one voice.
"This is exactly where the ol' beldam told us to dig. If it ain't here, it ain't anywhere." says another.
Yet another voice speaks up, "Quiet you, if she hears you doubting her word she'll set her husband on you. You saw what he did to that policeman."
"I still fear bad about that," says the first voice again.
"He would have arrested us!" says the second, "Now if ya don't shut yer trap we'll bury ya hear once we find it."
"My pilgrimage was attacked. Me and my mother are the only ones left. I set up some wards to keep that psycho from just blowing this whole place up with holy magic or something."

You successfully approach them and you remain unseen.
"How much deeper do ya th--" the first man's voice is interrupted by the sound of his shovel hitting something solid. All three men freeze suddenly and as you peer into the whole along with the rest of the men you see a patch of white protruding from the dirt. One of the men bends down and carefully extracts the object from the soil, brushing it off to reveal a pale white horse skull. They stand silently and stare at it.
You hear the sound of something swoop overhead. The men don't seem to notice as whatever was flying lands in the darkness of night and begins to approach them behind their back.
