In the morning, You find that yelena is with Nika. Nika does NOT look happy. She seems to be in a lot of pain. you can only guess that it has started.

Flint hands her the towel. 'How did this towel manage to stay so clean? Magic?'

"have you ever noticed her feathers are still white? I clean for her. Which is hard. VERY hard. Thank you." she has a little owlbear in her arms. she wraps the owlbear up the towel. "would you like to hold her?" 

'Aww, of course I would!'

He strokes the baby owlbear

there is a little squeak from yelena's side and she turns. "Oh my gosh! He lives! I think we have a fighter on our hands!"

'Wow! That's amazing! Can I see the little tough guy?'

She hands him to you and takes the girl. "well i guess you can have your pick! boy or girl?"

the boy is smaller than the girl by a bit. but he had some brown flecks to his yellow eyes and he has black feathers mixed in with the white.

'Hmm, how about we let them decide. Hey little guys, which one of you wants to be my companion?'

Immediately the boy gives a growl and his feather fluff out. 

The girl looks at yelena with her pure yellow eyes and gives a squeak.

"I think the boy wants to be your companion. you guys would be a good match for each other." yelena looks at the girl and you can see the girl snuggle into her arms. "princess Akira"

'Aww!'

Flint is almost overcome by the pure cuteness of the scene, picking up the boy owlbear. 'So, little guy, I was gonna call ya Yaro, ya ok with that? And what's ya opinion on scavenging?'

Yelena goes to attend to Nika

Yaro clicks his beak in what seems to be approval and wiggles. He seems to want to be put down.

"I will ask that you leave him with his momma for a few weeks so that he can gain more knowledge and to be fed. until then you can visit as much as you'd like. Nika loves having you here."

'Oh, ok little guy, I'll give ya back to ya mom. She loves ya very much, ya know. But I'll be back soon'

Instead of going straight to his mom he headbutts your leg. he bounces off not doing much but then he goes around you and comes back with a piece of metal.

"huh. He knows what you're saying. That's... Interesting. Not many owlbears from birth have so much knowledge. He will still need to be fed but it's like he can tell what you want. which is a rare connection. Not even i have had that straight from Nika's birth."
