A huge cloud of smoke with golden embers fills the air, flowing out from several chimneys at one time. It begins to gather at one point, coalescing into an umbrella... then a monstrous, bestial skull with a tophat underneath the umbrella... then a flashy, black and gold ringmaster's outfit beneath that... and a cane to the side of that.
A massive, hill giant sized monstrosity stands before the horde. Its glowing, golden eyes look over the horde with mild confusion and distaste. The smoke/shadow monster raises its cane and stamps it into the ground, summoning massive amounts of living, pulsating flesh. It smells delicious, even to the mortals. The flesh crawls toward the zombies, harmless but determined.

The flesh is quickly destroyed, but...
all zombies who partake take 12 necrotic damage and gain that many temporary hit points. If they somehow survive this damage (remember that temp hp doesn't count as hit points), they lose 5ft of movement speed and gain advantage on STR and CON based ability checks.
*While reading this, I would suggest listening to Rasputin by Boney M. I listened to it while writing this and nothing has ever worked that well.*
The winds seemed to pick up slightly as the smell of the briny sea seemed to wrap around the woods and inside the tavern. A man, dressed in mariners finery, opened the door with a steel gauntleted hand. He stood about 6'2 with an imposing form, back straight. His hair was short and stark white, his well groomed mustache was the same color. His eyes were icy blue with little flecks of gold towards the center. He wore a simple white shirt, a set of silver colored studded leather armor that seemed to shine almost like steel, a pair of brown breeches, a white coat with silver edging over his shoulders, and a gold and blue colored multi-pack belt around his waist. Pins decorated his coat, some in different languages while some in common. The name, Captain Aionus Galewind, was stitched on to the front like a name tag. On his shoulder sat a monkey dressed in a little shirt, a blue vest, and black shorts. It carried a spyglass in one hand while using the other to cling to the shoulder of Aionus.
Aionus and his monkey friend walked up to the bar and sat down, placing down a few pieces of gold. "Whiskey on the rocks and a bowl of fresh fruit." he asked, his voice rough and scratchy. The monkey made a few pleased noises and sat on a bar stool besides him.
An ornate door with black wood and gold decorations sits, affixed to a wall outside. There is no shop attached to it, and theoretically, it shouldn't lead anywhere, but carnival music can be heard from the other side.
Tidus blinks their eyes and walks over to the door, tapping their paw against the door. "hello?"
The Black Door opens immediately. Behind it is a completely different plane, one where it is pitch black except for the dim carnival lights illuminating what appears to be a city.
The door opens into the street. More of that pulsating flesh from the farmhouse is emerging from the storm drains. It the air is warm and comforting, the sky above the street carnival filled with black smoke and gilded embers.
Tidus twitches his whiskers, peering into the door. "Oh dear..."
Some of the smoke starts to filter down in a supernatural, swirling downdraft. It begins to form into a vaguely humanoid shape about the size of a hill giant. A tophatted deer-like skull pushes out from the fog as the embers coalesce into golden eyes. The smoke turns into black and gold clothing as a cane made of the same wood as the door appears in the creature's hand. Tidus can instantly tell that this is the same monster that was in the farmhouse.
"Ah, you're back!"Comes its deep, booming voice.
"Oh! Its you! Hello!" Tidus meows kindly and flaps its wings "What are you doing in there? I saw ye in the farmhouse a sun ago?"

"I decided to just leave it. It's just a building, after all. This is my home. I would invite you to come out and enjoy the carnival, but I'm not sure if we have many things that a cat would enjoy."
The monster steps aside anyway to allow Tidus passage.

"Are you going to trap me in here if I walk the threshold?" it askes politely, tilting its head, its tails flicking about.
