”Where did you get that cat?”

Anna looks confused, and grows more so when the cat baps Zero’s nose with its paw.

'In street, by window'

“And it didn’t attack you? That’s.. surprising considering the last cat you found.”

Anna walks up to Zero and feels around the cat’s scruff for a collar. She doesn’t find one.

'Keep kitty?'

“Yeah, sure. What do you want to name him?”

'Ummm...?'

The cat wriggles out of Zero's arms and paws at the television. The tv is showing a news story about a scientist called Hiram Boseley, who had just made a major physics breakthrough

“What? That’s odd.”

Anna sits at the couch adjacent to the TV and beckons Zero to sit down next to her.

The cat continues to paw at the picture of the physicist, mistaking it either for prey or a human.

'What call kitty? Who is man on tv?'

“That man is Hiram Bosely. He is some scientist who from the looks of it, just had a physics breakthrough. I dunno what the cat is doing at the TV though.”

Anna turns up the volume of the TV and listens.

'Call cat Hiram Bosely?'

“No, that doesn’t feel right. The man on the TV was Hiram if you missed that Zero.”

Anna stretches, apparently tired from a days work.

'And cat like TV. Cat want be called Hiram Bosely?'

The cat sits on Anna whilst she is stretching

“I doubt it. The cat probably saw something it didn’t like about the guy. How is the name ‘Reggie?’ It sounds pretty good, and the cat is a boy.”

Anna pets the cat, and it starts to purr softly

'Reggie good'

The cat seems to like it

She scritches the cat behind the ears 

“Cute cat. I might have to clean him though, since he is a stray.”

*yeah, I might have overstepped it sorry*

'Clean?'

*it’s okay lol*

“It feels weird to pet a cat that has gross stuff on it.”

She runs a finger along the cat and it comes back black

Zero strokes the cat, not seeming to care. 'Cute kitty'

In the central bridge of the Reach, the sonar beeps, detecting a large object entering its radius. It’s too far away to see the object, but it seems as if the stars are, moving?  Mercenary Anna Graves climbs up onto the roof of her apartment building, and watched the sky where the stars appear to be moving. 

She is wearing an outfit comprised of skin tight augmented military fatigues, with body armour made from a mix of Kevlar and Lead. (AC 16) 

She has a pistol holster on her left hip, which holds an antique revolver built in the 1800s. A rifle is slung on her back, and looks similar to a M4A1 but is a Laser rifle.

 The stars continue to stir, getting more and more violent in their movements. With no warning, they suddenly stop. Motionless. A slight humming begins, ethereal in nature. More and more voices start humming, until an orchestra of the sound can be heard all over the station.

 She looks around, baffled at the noise and grabs her rifle.

 The stars start to move again, but instead of random movements, it seems methodical. they weave and swerve, forming a swirl of stars. From the center, a faint glow can be seen. The brighter the glow becomes, the louder the humming. Soon the glow is so brights it almost seems on top of you. A sonic boom sounds as a bright line of light suddenly blasts from the center, crashing right in front of you, making you lose your balance (unless you succeed a DC 25 dex check) and fall over.
