A battle-scarred and ancient looking drow man rides slowly into town, quietly and solemely. He looks for a place to stable his horse.
There aren’t very many stables, except for one next to some form of Inn. On the other side of the building, a street curves through, with a sign above it saying Shopping District. A young boy is tending to a white horse with a black mane.
He rides up, dismounting smoothly. He speaks to the boy in a soft yet scratchy voice, "Hello there. Are you the stable boy? I'd like to leave my horse here, please."
“I’m not the stable boy, but of course you can.” He turns around to face you. His eyes show an unnatural maturity in them, but also some form of malice. “For a price.”
He stares hard right back at the boy, an almost bored look in his eyes. "Mkay. How much?"
He smiles. “Well, we’re having a sale, so should be 200 gold a week.”
“Karalin. And that’s fine. I don’t mind noise. At least you have room service.”
“Well have fun. Elevates to the side. Tell Nile I said hello.”
“Thanks! I will.” Karalin goes up to her room and unpacks her bags.
*it’s basically the equivalent of her perfect room, right down to the minute details*
“Wow! That’s really nice. And the rates are reasonable too.” Karalin lays down on the bed and gets some sleep for a few hours (she’s exhausted from a long journey).

“All up front. Every week.”
"Got it." He says slowly. He pulls a huge duffle bag off of his horse, and counts out the money, then hands it over.

Karalin grabs her axe and readies herself for battle.
The person on the floor laughs as they get up. They are rather short, like a gnome, yet their skin is pale like a vampire. They draw their own Axe, this one seemingly made of blood, and yell to the floor above, “THAT ALL YOU GOT, [REFACTED]?” He then jumps back up, ignoring the previous hole and creating a new one, soon followed by the sounds of fighting once more.

The room is quite large, enough to have a few dozen people standing to the sides exchanging gold coins they most likely got from bets. In the center is five people, all bruised or exhausted, except for the person who you saw earlier. He is currently locking weapons with a fallen Aasimar, whose knee-long, tied hair ends in a dagger. Both are smiling. “I haven’t even started dumb(beep).”
Karalin sits down and watches the fight between the gnome vampire and the aasimar.
The gnome yells a battle cry, then changes into a cloud of red mist, which covers the entire floor. The Aasimar pulls a gun and fires at the ground 3 times, making an additional 3 holes in their floor and your roof. “If you’re going to play that way, fine. I ain’t holding back now, ya wannabe be deady.”
*I just had an idea. Have you ever seen Bendy and the Dark Revival? It's a game about a time loop in an artificial hell, and one person takes control of it by capturing anyone who can cause the loop to restart, aside from the titular Bendy, the Ink Demon, who he "kills" to gain the trust of everyone in the Cycle.
Anyway, most of that would be impossible here, but what if someone was trying to find a way to harness the loop for their own selfish and cruel desires?*

The drow just stares at him, in slight confusion. "It's the most real gold anywhere. Why, though, are you eating it?"
“Why are you asking questions?” He takes another bite out of it. “I don’t know. It tastes off.”
"Why aren't you answering em?"
“Cause they’re stupid. You live in a world where a dragon can burn down a town without n mere seconds, a skeleton could be king, and time loops affect a very specific town for who knows how long, I’ve stopped counting, yet you’re questioning why I’m eating gold.”

*cool idea, but maybe for the campaign. I just want this to be a fun paradox filled prison, not a story to defeat a primary villain.*
Karalin sighs and leans back to watch the fight. She has a Cube of Force to put up later around her bed in case the roof falls in. (The Cube of Force is opaque so no one can see in.)
He smiles. “Well, we’re having a sale, so should be 200 gold a week.”
