A place to play alien civilizations and their members on D&D Beyond.
Rules:
Stay PG13, so no overly graphic depictions, uncensored swears, or sexual content unless you fade to black.
Try to stay within the realm of science fiction.
Normal D&D rules unless stated otherwise.
No classes, instead, gain a feat each levelup.
Your proficiency bonus progresses normally.
No lineages except aliens created on this thread and approved by a mod.
Only mods can create planetary systems or rogue planets.
Ask permission before putting a planet/species in/on someone else's planetary system/planet
Whatever racial feats are called now that race is no longer a Dungeons & Dragons term, they're allowed.
Include “galactic” in your first post to prove that you read the rules.
Your max character level is increased every time someone joins the thread or becomes a mod.
The max character level of mods is increased by six.
Your max leveled character count starts at one and increases by five for each planet you make, although you can have any number of minor NPCs, who only get ability scores, lineage traits, and, at most, one feat.
When creating a character/NPC, point buy/standard ability scores are allowed, and, if you roll your ability scores, you should choose the “reroll all ones” option in the dice roller.
Hit dice are based on size, with d6s for tiny, d8s for small, d10s for medium, d12s for large, and d20s for huge.
Characters start with two skill proficiencies, two saving throw proficiencies, and one tool proficiency
Unusually for most systems, the lunara system revolves around a blackish “moon,” the geothermally active core of which sheds light upon the surrounding planets from cracks in its surface. This causes planets in its orbit to experience “winters” in which the only light to be found comes from the walls of the moon's ravines reflecting light from its core, as no direct line of sight can be found to the glowing magma within. While such reflections are bright, they are not bright enough to prevent the affected planet's daytime being thrown into a perpetual twilight. The walls of the moon's crevices almost completely absorb infrared light, and as such during a winter most planets experience a drastic drop in temperature. Some of the planets even get so cold that some of the gasses in their atmospheres freeze, if they have them. Due to the high mass of the moon most orbits in this system are small and fast.
In possession of one of the most variable climates in the Lunara system, Caparici's extremely fast orbit makes the winters and non-winters of this system extremely short, ranging from 6 to 36 days. The plant analogues here are either able to survive on minimal heat or enter dormant periods within the space of an hour, so as to survive the harsh conditions of winter. Almost no creatures on this planet are completely carnivorous, due to the fact that during winters the most optimal food source is vegetation, thanks to its food storing ability. Said vegetation is usually in possession of a hard shell and a softer inside, and their leaf analogues are usually retracted into the shell in their base state, except during non-winter periods in which swollen soft tissues push them out into the light. The structures of multicellular life on this planet is primarily made of fibrous protrusions, with protein like molecules attached to them performing various specialized functions, as well as linking with other fibers and passing things back towards the base of the fibers, at which the cell that the fiber originally grew from is placed, performing complex functions that the fibers themselves cannot do, such as, in autotrophs, a reaction that converts heat (a resource that, save in winter, is more efficient to process than light) into chemical energy. Caparician life is carbon based and is in many ways biologically similar to Earth life (although neither Earth nor its life actually exists in this universe). A Caparician orbit is roughly half that of Earth.
Teleans have a roughly humanoid body plan, with backwards bending knees and a tail-like structure in place of a head. They are colored bright white in order to blend in with the landscape during winter when predators are the hungriest. Perhaps their most notable feature and the ones that they are most known for is the strange manipulator appendages at the ends of their arms. These appendages are roughly conical structures composed of rings of muscle that allow them to expand and contract in most any pattern. This is not what makes them so notable, though, instead their fame comes from the pinkish patch in their centers, which is not only the only spot of color on a Teleans body, but also has an amazing capability: when in contact with another pink patch, which is known to non-Teleans as a Nura, it allows direct brain to brain communication through a large neuron equivalent that runs through the length of the arm and to the brain, which is located in the pectoral region. Their frames are supported by a keratin-like subdermal shell, which due to the angle of its ends around the knee joint, makes it extremely hard for a telean to completely straighten their legs, and succeeding in doing so is considered a feat of flexibility similar to licking one's elbow. Telean feet face backwards, and have a fan-like structure made of a material similar to Telean shells, which allows them to unfold to a full 270°. Teleans absorb nutrients and excrete waste through small holes in their backs, which are roughly the width of a nail. Teleans are egg laying, and reproduce through their tails. Teleans are not capable of vocal production of sound, so for situations in which Teleans are not close enough to immediately communicate, they have developed a sort of code consisting primarily of striking one's body to produce sound.
Ability score increase. Your Intelligence increases by one and another ability score increases by two, your Intelligence increases by one, along with two other ability scores, or Intelligence increases by two and another ability score increases by one.
Alignment. Telean culture is centered primarily around community and friendliness. Teleans tend towards good.
Age. Teleans mature at an age of 30 earth years, and can live up to 150, or double that if they have access to modern medical technology.
Size. Teleans are the size of a fist at birth, reach 3 ft tall at age 20, and reach 5 ft at age 70. Depending on your age, you are medium or small.
Speed. You have a walking speed of 30 ft.
Caparician resilience. You are adapted to the harsh climate of Caparici, and, as such, are immune to the effects of extreme cold and extreme heat.
Sure-footed. Used to icy crags during Caparician winter, and having broad feet, you have advantage on saving throws against the prone condition and being moved against your will.
Subdermal shell. You have a +1 bonus to your armor class.
Languages. Telepathy with a range of touch, Telean signal code, and you can understand, but not speak, one language of your choice, although, if the language has a nonverbal form, you know it.
Telepathic skill training: You are trained in the art of using telepathy with greater finesse, and gain the following benefits:
You can cast detect thoughts a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus (resetting upon a long rest), except all of its effects only go out to the range of your telepathy. Your spellcasting ability is Intelligence for this spell.
As an action, you can assault the mind of one being within the range of your telepathy, forcing them to make a wisdom saving throw equal to 8 plus your proficiency bonus plus your Intelligence modifier. On a failure, it takes 1d4 psychic damage.
Nura power boost: Through telepathic strength training you have increased the power output of your nuras, and gain the following benefits:
Your Constitution increases by one
The range of your telepathy increases to 60 feet.
Utilizing static charge from your Nuras to manipulate objects, you can cast mage hand at will, using Constitution as your spellcasting ability. When cast in this way, The hand is invisible and the spell can only lift objects up to 1 pound, however, you can make attacks with the hand, using Intelligence and dealing lightning damage equal to 1d6 plus your Constitution modifier on a hit.

Hi blackcat, a little advice.
You kinda should've put all that stuff in the first post inside spoilers. It kinda makes no sense to put it in separate posts
I am a Star Wars nerd who is obsessed with roleplay, sci-fi, and brutal murder.
Pronouns he/him. PM me the word tomato 🍅 or the word Banana 🍌
I am an Unstrikable Warrior, as drummer dictated. Do not waste your energy in attempts to strike me, for it will fail.
I am a knight of the fallen order, an undying saviour, a defeater of tyrants and a bane of evil.
but theyre not part of the rules?
