Oh, I also came up with some ideas for an NPC and a puzzle!
NPC Idea: A devil who offers you permanent buffs or abilities in exchange for a small part of your life force (hit points). For example, you could gain the ability to grow birdlike, draconic, etc wings (your choice) from your back at will in exchange for 10 hit points, which you can never recover by any means short of a wish spell.
Puzzle Idea: The party walks into a room. The room is empty of anything except for four statues that are each in the four cardinal directions (north, south, east, west) and a pillar in the center. On the pillar is inscribed “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.” By looking around, the party can see that the four statues resemble a handsome male human, a beautiful female elf, a burly and good looking male dwarf, and an ugly beholder that seems to have a small spherical indent in its eye. Upon reading the message inscribed on the pillar out loud, a small tile on it moves to the side, revealing a small golden orb with the word “beauty” etched into it. To solve the puzzle, the party must place the orb in the indent in the beholder’s eye. Doing so will cause the eye to slide to the side, revealing a platinum plated chest. Inside the chest rests a legendary treasure (or whatever else the may DM decide). (Note: the beholder statue is unaffected by magic, which prevents the party from just blowing the statue up or any else of the sort.)

Upon reading the message inscribed on the pillar out loud, a small tile on it moves to the side, revealing a small golden orb with the word “beauty” etched into it. To solve the puzzle, the party must place the orb in the indent in the beholder’s eye. Doing so will cause the eye to slide to the side, revealing a platinum plated chest. Inside the chest rests a legendary treasure (or whatever else the may DM decide). (Note: the beholder statue is unaffected by magic, which prevents the party from just blowing the statue up or any else of the sort.)
