Just watched Mary Poppins, a true masterpeice. My favorite part is the last 40 minutes, though it’s entirety is amazing and better then the book it’s based off of. And yes, I will be humming Let’s Go Fly A Kite and Chim Chim Cheree for several weeks
I have seen this movie hundreds of times at this point, I use to want it almost every day when I was a kid. It’s still a joy to watch after all this time.
As I kid it was so good too. I used to pretend to be a Chimney sweep. And the artwork for the Berts chalk drawings and the London rooftops are so beautiful. The morales are amazing of course, and I really enjoy how Mr. Banks turns out to not be such a bad guy after being seemingly a stern downer. Bert is so fun, he’s my favorite character. I may go as a chimney sweep next year because I used to pretend to be one as a kid and just because they’re cool
The music is of course good too, especially how there’s different versions of the songs with different tones. The instrumental of Feed The Birds when Mr. Banks is walking to the bank is very powerful
