A maiden?! Again?! WHY DO THEY ALWAYS KILL THE GOOD ONES??? They think killing the pure will help the evil rise in my vision, so they murder children and bloody my name. Instead of offering to those in need, they take so the wealthy may feast for me, giving offerings of gluttony. Every year, it’s always the same. And yet I can’t bring myself to stop them, because as much as I hate the ways in which they worship me, I can’t go back to the small fae child I was, rejected by the world. Why can’t they help each other, glorify me, instead of turn me into a reason for all their sins? What’s the point? Do they just need someone to blame? A reason to destroy those they disagree with, saying it’s all for me? Good for me, I guess, I’ve got what I always wanted, but is the road worth the victory?

I made a deity like that once! Sargassa, the deep sea goddess of perfection. She craves adoration and companionship above all else, and constantly shifts her form to make herself more, well, perfect, depending on whichever specific group of people caught her interest at the moment. When she’s angry or has no current mortal civilization to try and change herself to fit, she is an unholy amalgamation of dozens of sea creatures the size of a large whale.
