Alternatively, for 4 sorcery points, you can inflict them with a disease listed in the contagion spell, which lasts for one minute, or, for 6 sorcery points, you can inflict Mummy Rot.
Eldritch Tide
starting at 18th level, you become the epitome of awfulness. As an action, you can spend 5 sorcery points to cast conjure animals (vermin only) or spend 7 sorcery points to cast insect plague. A conjure animals or insect plague spell cast this way does not require concentration. If you concentrate on another spell while also maintaining a conjure animals or insect plague cast this way, you take necrotic damage equal to twice the level of the spell you were concentrating on once the spell you were concentrating on ends.
Note: I am… horrible at balancing, Eldritch Tide and Shroud of Vermin are probably way too powerful, balancing will come later. For now, I was just focusing on ✨vibes✨
