To their id and instincts, to the voice that pricks at the back of every men’s mind. When a men commits the one sin oh so many cultures deem inexcusable.

However, a Wendigo is only half of this curse. For every destructive and life-ending force the world creates, one of life soon follows. The insatiable deer spirit consumes the body and turns it into a weapon. But the soul? The soul ascends to another form. One which shields the cursed loved ones from the same mistake it once made.

An Ogidnew acts as a familial guardian, caring for the descendants of its previous form. In times of need, it forms for them, leading to sanctuary, food, and away from the Wendigo’s vices. However, it tries to keep these occurrences short, else its twin tracks it down and kills who they saved. A shield against its own claws, but a beacon for its snout. A protective light against an encroaching shadow.

Well i believe that however strange the original few games were, however uncomfy a few pieces were (cough they used a slur in the first game cough), and however interesting the quality of the 3d models were in udg, the character-driven formula put a new spin on the mystery genre that the community has been eager to improve and expand on. The most valuable thing about Danganronpa for me is the community. We see the flaws of the originals and we do not deny them, but we move on and form improved fanon versions. Fanganronpas are some of the most creative stories out there on the internet, and I'd go so far as to say some outdo the originals (A few of my favorites are Eden's Garden, DRDT, Lapse, and the tetro series).

 No offense taken lol :P but v3 is the best out of the original three. Personally, i think the best fan-interpretation of the canon comes from the twisted minds theater musicals. Really good stuff. And they handled the difficult things (ie, DID, abuse, trans people) with tact and respect. In the UDG musical, there's this hilarious moment. i don't know if you know anything about Ultra Despair Girls, honestly, i only like it b/c the musical (and because i'm a hardcore KomaKawa shipper) but in the original there's this moment where a guy says something creepy that's supposed to be darkly reassuring to the protagonists(not sayin it here cuz it's *FBI OPEN UP*)  and they changed it to this funny line where he's like "Oh don't worry, i like...*awkward pause* men. Like, older men, like, dad bods, guys who'll treat you to a coors and a night on the town." and i spit out my milk laughing. So yeah, the community is the best part.
And kaede. Kaede is the best.
