It's worth noting: 'soil' an object could technically be interpreted as soaking your weapon in fresh blood, depending on you DM...

Well this is why you have different spells. One is combat the other isn’t, both are useful

Guys, gotta admit, I’m really sad that I have to write this. I have been asked to update the rules and clarify a few things, and I agree. When I said everyone is welcome here, I meant it. I didn’t think I was going to have to specify straight people, neurotypical, etc. Discrimination is not a tolerable thing on here. People discriminating against you gives you no right to do so back, it just turns into a never ending cycle. I don’t care if it’s saying straights are bad at role playing or are “generally jerks,” it doesn’t belong here. It’s a generalization as bad as what some people say about gays. Take it somewhere else. This is meant to be a supportive community, whether you’re gay or not.
Additionally, I don’t want to hear anything about how we need to kill off humanity anymore. It’s not appropriate, and there are better places for that to be discussed. If you need help, please seek it, instead of taking it out on here. I love y’all, but this is not group therapy. Please get help if you need it.

Actually, considering how common fire is as a resistance, lightning bolt can hit more creatures for reliable damage. Also lightning powers are infinitely cooler than fire powers

Better for combat, sure. But it provides significantly fewer role-playing options.
The only one and can think of is targeting someone's butt to intimidate them. With PAIN.
