I play piano and I’m suffering rn with a section of this song called nocturne (interlude), I wonder if guitar is hard….
Piano is really cool
I think guitar is just about as hard as most instruments, ofc certain things are easy and other things are hard. One big difference between guitar and piano is definitely the hand strength, my hands didn’t hurt a ton my first couple weeks, but there was some discomfort. Your fingers have to develop calluses on the tips and your hand needs some time to get strong, whereas on piano you can just hit a key and it sounds fine.
The best feeling I’ve experienced so far that you don’t get on a piano (maybe you do, idk) is strumming, like playing a good syncopated strumming pattern is so nice. It feels instinctive, and you can just sort of feel it in your body in a way playing individual notes doesn’t have
I’m sure I’m missing out on some great piano stuff though, we have a keyboard so I’ll probably dip into it sometime. I was thinking about trying to learn Ballad Of A Thin Man, the record version or the bootleg live version
At the moment I’m hoping to buy a Harmonica soon and get acquainted with that, it makes a nice pairing with vocals and guitar, and you can do them all at once to get a nice full song even when you’re just one person (think Bob Dylan)

Piano is really cool
