What kind of boss fight are you thinking of?
They're fighting a city-block sized burrowing creature in its lair whilst trying to find a very particular sapphire in it's treasure hoard.

It is indeed! Although one of the two main villains will appear to taunt them. Then he'll disappear. And they won't see him for the next 5 sessions. probably.
Oh fun my campaign actually starts today. It begins with everyone being kidnapped by the pirate queen BBEG :P
