Oh. I've only ever heard gender used as a physical thing; you know, girls can give birth, boys can't. But I'm guessing that's not how you see it?
Jumping in here (because I just had a genetics test today) but there are two scientifically separate forms of classification for sex and gender. There are more than 2 sexes and more than 2 genders, regardless of a government standpoint on what can be put on your passport. Being intersex (which varies in phenotype, you can be intersex and never know your entire life) is more common than being a redhead, fun fact. Anyways, gender is a social construct and a personal alignment with the sort of "gender roles" of the society you live in. For example, you could live in a country where being female means you have short hair and typically raise children but also handle work outside of the home, while men may be traditionally house caretakers. The definition of male and female in terms of gender changes drastically over history (blue becoming a "boy" color, stuff like that) and is closely linked with psychology and sociology. Sex is purely defined by your chromosomal and genital composition. There are multiple sexes in humans, the most common being XX Female and XY Male. A "female" may also be XXX and a few other combinations, which isn't very rare, as well as a "male" having more than just XY (sometimes XXY). So in essence, some women can't give birth, some boys can, presence of a Y chromosome typically means an individual cannot give birth.
To answer your question though, being transgender essentially means that your gender does not match with your assigned sex at birth. This can be an intersex person wanting to be male, an XXX female wanting to be male, anything of the sort. Gender dysphoria is typically the diagnosis you would receive, but being transgender is natural due to how society functions, being limited to a "boy" and "girl" category doesn't always fit everyone, especially those born outside of a sex binary (such as intersex and whatnot).
This is also why medically, your doctors inquire about your sex rather than your gender. Seeing both as separate isn't a personal opinion, it's deeply rooted in science.

I was referring to the prequels being great. They…aren’t. Revenge of the Sith is the best one, but the bar is very low.
The sequels don’t exist so don’t ask me about them.
