I love it when I have a character who has a "decent" option and a "near-overpowered" option, and then I avoid using the second until it would be especially impactful.
The Monster Hunter class from Grim Hollow works really well for this.
Characters who hold back are always cool

Also, I agree with Himy here. ("Man, your wizard is so weak, he never KILLS anyth- wait, did you just one-shot the Ogre?") - this is why :)
