Idea: There are two axis of magic
Light/Dark and Positive/Negative
Light is pleasant, while Dark is unpleasant, and Positive is creative while Negative is destructive.
Light/Positive creates Dreamers and associated objects, and can be used for healing. Light/Positive is the most commonly accepted magic/psionics, and its users are called Saviors.
Light/Negative destroys, purges, or otherwise abjures both living things and Nightmares. It can also be used for resurrection, as it is destroying death(Dark/Negative)'s hold. Light/Negative is much more difficult to wield than Light/Positive, as it often manifests as fire or some sort. It's users are called Justiciars.
Dark/Positive is used primarily by illusionists, as bringing a Nightmare or similar entity into the physical world is a terrible idea. Nightmares, however, typically crush Dreamers in direct combat, so Dark/Positive is usually used against Light/Positive. Dark/Positive users are called many nasty things, but Medium is the most common.
Dark/Negative is possibly the easiest magic to wield, and also has the worst reputation. It is utter ruin and death, despair and agony, dearth and darkness. It is very useful for demolition and combat, but Light/Negative always beats it. Its users are usually called monsters, but Reaper is a more precise term.
