By using the internet, you’re literally condemning yourself to being an imbecile. The moment at which you rely on a supercomputer’s selection of knowledge, you’ve lost. 

I mean, look. There is a correlation between test scores and the level of commodity of phones and computers—they’ve just gone down as phones become more common. Since schools allow computers, since it’s so much easier to get those instead of new textbooks every year, as well as the fact that everything can organize itself so much more neatly. It also gives students eight hours of screens when they usually won’t get it, as well as giving them ways to play games and further miss their education.

Not only that, but your devices—not just social media or games, but your devices themselves—make you dumber, not only socially but knowledge-wise as well. 

Im not saying anything about you specifically or your personality or who you are, i found it hilariously ironic that you called people imbeciles for refusing to use Google.

You said "correlation," that's mainly what it is. While devices might affect test scores, there are various factors at hand, making it difficult to isolate a single one and find it actually affects. Additionally, we can't tell which parts of the internet are making test scores worse (if they do); it could be social media, something that is commonly known to damage the mental health of children and young adults. If you wanted an argument of why phones should be more restricted (not saying you are btw), this would be an extremely weak argument due to so many unknown factors affecting it. Additionally, search engines by themselves do improve knowledge by allowing you to reserach more, the issue is primarily the search engines that attempt to be more than that (I.E...google.) But googling, like tweeting, is a word based on a company name for a shorthand for a concept, in this case, searching something up. (Tweeting as in posting on social media, specifically Twitter)

2) I wasn’t making the argument about why phones should be restricted, I don’t even see why that should’ve been there.

3) I honestly was just arguing that devices in general cause the decline. Although I know it could be narrowed down further, there are plenty of issues involved with any device.

This would need fact checking, but I’m pretty sure the more data (info) google has on you, the more money they make because they can sell that sort of thing. This is why they have things like street view on their maps: all that extra data is money.
