Y'know, I'm not depressed and never have been, but I've been sad and thought stuff like "I'm probably the worst in this friend group." or "they probably dont like me." But once you really think about it, you realize its all nonsense. Try keeping a notes thing on your phone of every compliment or thing your friends or just people in general did that was kind or really thoughtful. Once people were saying my smile looked forced always and I was really sad about it, and some of my friends told me that. (dw) and then one guy said "I think your smile looks fine." In like, a certain tone (He was that type of friend that only comes sometimes and is very cool and everyone likes, so like coming from him it mattered). It may not sound like much but it helped a lot. Some other stuff noted without getting too personal is when someone asked me for my number for the first (and only) time, and when a random kid walked up and just said "You look like a nice man." and when kids tell you you know its more real usually. Theres lots of other stuff too
But basically, its really nice to look back and be reminded of all the times your friends helped you out or brightened your day. If you ever really doubt that they like you just meet them irl and be honest, "Do you guys actually like me? And be honest, I'd rather have the truth over fake friends."
(Sorry If I'm bringing up a finished conversation, this advice could be trash too since I've never been depressed)
